I don't think anyone has to earn the right. Footballers get 10 years in the system if they're lucky. If you know you're going to be out of a job at 30 and coaching or the media isn't your thing, then you have to have other prospects. Football clubs know this and help guys further their education. There wouldn't be a player in the league over 25 not thinking about life after football.
Jonas is also doing a law degree I believe. That's 2 outside pursuits that are preventing him from eating and breathing footy.... in fact eating and breathing are also taking away from him solely concentrating on football. Oh My, What have our standards become? He also needs to cut those damn sideburns!

I am saying that it is not a good image to be spruiking it when the club has seriously underachieved and the supporter base is restless, especially from a ****ing captain.
You can talk about stuff you do without drawing attention to already having one eye on post footy. It 100% sounds like he isn't here to win flags.

The exposure thing is really only a benefit to us if Koch uses it to leverage stuff for us, and he just doesn't, at all. His style isn't to lean on people, it's to hope that by being super friendly everyone will agree to help us when we need something. They don't. Compare and contrast with the likes of McGuire and Kennett and other high profile chairpeople.
Koch is one of the biggest names at the network which has the primary FTA rights for the footy, if he brought out even a hint of hard edge we should have a heap of power at AFL HQ. It's infuriating that we've gone in the opposite direction and we're so meek and mild.
The benefit is he is no longer on TV taking shots at our coaches/team, and making weird offhand comments about women belonging in the kitchen, or random racist shit, or whatever he usually gets in trouble for.
