The 2017 extension is perhaps the worst thing the club have ever done.

You've got this guy who looked pretty good for his first 18 months. He then has 2 awful, indefensible years in 2015 and 2016. In 2017 we have a soft draw, beat nobody worth talking about, manage 5th and then get knocked out by 8th in a home final, and he gets another 3 years with a 4th year if we make the finals(!) once(!) in the next 3 years(!).

There should be an ESPN 30 for 30 about that f***ing contract extension.

I was watching Stranger Things season 3 today, and it seems that a recurring theme is Winona Ryder going crazy woman on different indifferent men who think they know best, and those men just being scarred and doing what she says.

From our voices on the inside, that seems like what happened in 2017, replace Winona with Donna. It seems Koch and KT were intimidated by a loud woman and just bent over, rather than accomplish whatever they have planned to accomplish on that fateful night.

2016 is the one year I can actually forgive. We were smashed by injuries that year and lost Ryder through suspension.

That said, he should have been sacked after the second showdown in 2017. If not then, after the Elimination Final.

Nah **** off.

In 2004 we lost the league's best ruckman, who we built our previous first place finishes around, and win the flag.

We had Ryder for one season prior to that and he was in no way integral to the system yet. The inability to adapt to losing him IS on the coaches and list management.

And we just brought in Dixon who should have filled a hole anyway.

I am so incredibly glad that the women's team now exists. Even if they lose every game it'll still be the best part about supporting this club. Their love of the game, sense of team and gratitude for the opportunity to play is absolutely palpable.

The men's team and their administrators by contrast are a boys club full of narcissistic low achievers with no ambition other than to remain employed in the industry as long as they possibly can. Very few of them care about winning and most of them feel entitled to be there rather than grateful. I actually somewhat resent them and supporting it has become almost a solemn duty with the only real enjoyment being the sense of community with fellow supporters.

So a big thank you to the women's programme for restoring a small amount of my love for Port Adelaide and a big f*** you to everyone from the men's programme who have destroyed it in the name of their own finances and egos.

It’s a bit of a theme on here that some supporters can’t pump up the womens team without completing shitting on the mens.

Don’t get me wrong I’m well and truly over Hinkley and Koch but they can’t take away my passion for the club, I’m still as invested as I’ve ever been and am desperate for the club to succeed at all levels.

They use their ability to televise and promote the games due to their big money deals with foxtel and Ch 7. Nobody really watches or cares, but the AFL can make it happen and promote the absolute life out of it. On the other side of the coin they are using it to get huge swathes of government funding to renovate their infrastructure and facilities in the guise of making them female accomodating. The Victorian government in particular love it because they can further justify their huge spend and control of the AFL because now it is "inclusive" lf anything be impressed by the AFL latching on the zeitgeist and milking it for everything its worth.

But FMD, little emasculated Tassie hiding cucks getting their jollies from sensible men seeing what a sham the AFLW really is, well good on they.

Not really, people need to separate the criticism of AFLW and what it is actually is from support for women playing football. You've got a league that wasn't thought through, rushed in before there was even feeder leagues to it so straight out the gate there's no talent for it and then a bunch of people around aus getting professional contracts who've never played football before and then being advertised as professional footballers. Then that's sent next level by the AFL controlling all the media and pushing this hardcore, exciting tough as nails just like the men advertising spiel for a few years and you end up down the WNBA road where all it's built is resentment.

The membership is still healthy, the public perception is still positive.
