What are the chances that Caro or someone else in the media rips into him for his stupid comments about Essendon?
I'd prefer if they just ignored it. Basically treat him like you would a toddler and don't reward his attention-seeking behaviour.
But they probably will because those shows are, at their heart, as moronic as breakfast television. They all gin up a bit of controversy to keep the piggies happy.
For all the stupid stuff ken and Koch says and do why cant they ever just say something cancel culture worthy.

Hinkley would think that "woke" is a play on the name of his favourite drink and Koch is too self absorbed to be truly woke.

Without knowing the full context, I'm happy to default to calling Koch a bloviating w***er, but ...
If Essendon offers Hinkley a five year deal tomorrow, then they are not dreaming (just stupid to offer a dud coach a big contract) and we should release Hinkley.
If Essendon wants to take their time convening a special selection panel, and that panel then wants to take their time selecting a coach and finally makes overtures to Hinkley 3-5 weeks from now, there will come a point where we are better off holding him to his 2023 deal than engaging in the sort of grubby 11th hour shenanigans that St Kilda pulled to hire Richardson away from us.

This is a good test for Kochie. It's Gold Coast 2017 all over again. If Essendon approach Hinkley, Hinkley will demand an extension to stay. Do we renew or let him walk?
Good outcomes
1. We keep him, no renewal, stick to the 'process' of evaluating his 2022/3 performance.
2. We let him go, new coach, results fall as they are. We finish hire/are better than Essendon.
3. We let him go, new coach, Hinkley does a Hinkley and Dons surge back up the ladder. Kochie/board/CEO look like idiots for letting him walk, K/B/C under more pressure from pro and anti Hinkley camps.
Bad outcomes
1. We keep him, extend, **** ourselves.
Ken can be as determined to make up for disappointment as he likes. What he lacks is the intelligence and tactical ability to do it.

It's like the people defending Hinkley saying "he's doing his best". That may well be true but clearly his best is not good enough. He can be determined as he likes and do his absolute best but that doesn't make up for a lack of ability.
I'm really determined to represent Australia in the men's 100m sprint at the next Olympics and I promise to do my absolute best in the race.

I'm not so sure Lonie did do his best, I had a client who was hired as a martial arts expert back in the Choco days to toughen up Lonie, and he lasted only one session.
