Daw in for Hansen.

I think eventually hansen will play the Maxwell role cos we will have Grima and Delaney taking the key position, Hansen play 3rd man and that suits his attributes as he is not too good with the 1-on-1 play.

Is it REALLY preferable that a player not "squib" a contest if they're carrying a minor shoulder tear that could become a 6 month injury if it's further torn?
It's all about confidence in your own body, lachie doesn't have it at the moment, but he IS learning the role by being in the team.

The only role you learn by 'squibbing' is to become a sofkok.
That's not what players like Stevens and Arch did. Squibbing.
So, does the coaching staff tell a player to go out there and
"don't try too hard in case you hurt yourself".
If that's the case, please PM me to get a free reserved seat membership card for the rest of the season.

Where does this "squib" rubbish evolve from?

Do ANY of you people actually watch the games?

I've watched Lachlan Hansen closely since we drafted him and I think we have played him out of position. He is a great endurance athlete and thus he should play on the wing. He is 197cm but runs a great time trial. He could prove to be a match up from hell. He reminds me of Shane Clayton.

You didn't see him pull out of a contest on the weekend?

no wonder you have nfi. You must be watching the Victor Harbor Kangaroos.

Unfortunately that did seem to happen. Not sure it was being soft as the bloke will park under a hospital ball or slam into a fence as we know, looked more like a lack of commitment to pressure an opponent. Was disappointing.

yep. It was his ball to win if he was willing to feel some pain. I've got a lot of time for Hansen, great talent but has dropped off in recent weeks and that squib was just too much.

Sometimes a player needs time back in the 2's so they can refocus their commitment. This is especially the case when there are players in the 2's that are playing well and putting the pressure on senior players.

Can you inform me as to when this incident occurred?

I don't remember seeing anything blatant in that regard and as I have a copy of the game I can refer to this "alleged" incident in a matter of minutes.

I'm with jclei (not sure if I've read your posts before jclei, but on this occasion, I like the cut of your jib!).

Hansen needs to get his hands on the pill more. With his sagging confidence surely you take him to where the ball is, rather than having him standing around (and doubting himself while doing so) waiting for the ball to come to him.

Stints at CHB, CHF and FF in equal measure (even occasional runs on the wing if it comes to that). Just get the ball in his hands as often as you can.

You don't waste his talent in the magoos unless you've exhausted all other options, or he's squibbing on effort (which I don't think he is, I think it's a confidence thing).

Only recently joined BF after my missus got sick of me talking about North to her every week...

Agree that his talent should not be wasted and he is a phenomenal runner so throw him around the ground a bit so he can use it.

I don't know about this. I think he's getting better at one on one body on body marking contests, if that's what you're referring to. I saw him take two contested body on body marks against Melbourne in the third quarter I think, which really impressed me. He is also a sensational pack mark with a run at the ball, as we all know. I really like him forward, and hadn't thought of him playing on the wing as suggested above. But that could be very interesting given his much hyped endurance.

In my opinion the coaching staff are there to win a premiership.
For that to happen there needs to be a significant amount of player development with a young group playing consistently with each other to learn each others playing styles.

In order to maximize time out on the field, i strongly believe that the coaching staff would prefer a player not tackle 100% for a couple of weeks while his shoulder is tender than have to sit out the majority of a season. Especially in a year when the team is not challenging for said premiership.

If the player was doing it when they were not injured there would be hell to pay, but I don't believe in the 'you go out on the field you declare yourself 100% fit' philosophy. It's blatantly false.

As for the reserve membership, I'm kinda keen. Couldn't afford one for myself this year :(
I'll swap you for my north end card? ;)

The commentators even made mention of it and replayed it. Dont remember which quarter it was but it was on the wing.

Proof you don't watch the games (or watch through Font coloured glasses). You have no idea how smug I'm feeling right now.

I honestlly think he(Hansen) is one of the worst players on our list and only ever gives half hearted performance like deadset sometimes i would rather play with 17 ppl on the field so why not give Daw a run!

Our list?

Your list was built on tanking and shady recycling deals.
