A three way trade for Dangerfield or Rockliff from Brisbane would do it but neither look likely to happen.

Which ever way you see it we will probably lose out at least for the short term because we will end up either with an early draft pick or a young player.

I think Pick 4 for Beams will be the likely trade, it's not realistic to ask for more than that for a guy who wasn't even an AA and has not won a best and fairest yet.
Beams has in fact won a B+F and AA. Beams was a Premiership Player in 2010. A Copeland Medal (B+F Winner) and AA in 2012. And only played 5 games last year and will fight out the B=F again this year with Pendlebury and this year was again equal highest vote getter for C'Wood in the Brownlow.

And it's beyond sad, this will ensure the core of the 2010 list will never see another flag, if there was any doubt beforehand.

I think the quicker we all realise this the better. We are a shadow of the 2010/2011 sides.

If we deal with Bris they may offer pick 4 but the trouble is your losing a player who's ready to roll.Beams is coming into his prime now.A pick 4 may get u a good player but you will have to wait a few years for it to bear fruit.GCS are the team we should try and do a deal with.I'd be looking at a Jesse Longergan or a Trent Mckenzie and maybe some draft pick swaps. We need players who can come in and make an impact straight away because we have lost so many years of experience in the past couple of seasons.

Can someone just heck this idiot poster off?

If this was a pub he'd be flat on his back by now.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ive lost count how many players have been sacked, delisted, not renewed their contracts or want to move to another club. Our midfield next year will be Pendles by himself.

All the "supporters" saying this is Collingwood or Buckleys fault...don't let the door hit ya on the way out! SEEYA! :)

That's all right we will be leaving with our good players whilst you cheer on pressure act Blair and wait for Reid and co to get over their next injuries.

Only the worst.

Fair dinkum guys, get a grip. If you haven't been paying attention lately, Dayne's father has been quite ill for some time now. There is more to life then footy.

I for one hate the fact that this has happened (Opting to leave to go back home) but I will never begrudge a player who has a legitimate reason to leave our great club like Dayne has. For the people to turn on him and Bucks (Like WTF does Bucks even have to do with Dayne leaving... ) have a good look at yourselves. Really immature, dumb people roam these boards I tell you.

All the best Dayne. Now it's upto our club to rightfully seek the best trade for one our best players. Rightfully so we should be seeking one of Gold Coasts or Brisbanes best young players as it is only fair.

Can't stress that enough.
I think the above is very strong family reasons for him to want to return and I don't think there is any reason to start throwing around that this is Bucks' or Eddie's fault... and as long as he doesnt chuck a Tippet/Clark and jump ship elsewhere at the last minute, I would have nothing but support for him and his family.
It would be ideal if the club could find some sort of comprimise with him... maybe have him train up in Brisbane or something... but that wouldn't really make sense or be that workable.

The question now becomes how flexible he is in terms of a trade - and as others have said, a 3-team trade (do they allow that in AFL?) may be the most workable.
Ideally we either get a gun at/approaching his level (a Rockliff or O'meara etc.) or we ask 2-3 very good youngsters/high draft picks. (I'm thinking something on par with the Chris Judd trade)... but that would likely depend on how willing another team is to play ball, and whether or not we stick to our guns and not dealing him for a sub-par trade, in the hope that we can keep him happy over the next season and get him to extend his contract, or get a better return in free agency compo.

Wow. With swan pretty much done in the midfield (more small fwd I think next year) we have lost Beams, Ball and Swan from our best midfield.
That's gonna hurt!

Want danger!

Absolutely devastated about this news . Was second favorite player at the club behind Bally. Looks like Sidebottom now has the mantle.

On a serious note can not blame him, for wanting to go home, especially with the situation with his father. Football is a 10yr career if your lucky, family is for life and when a life threatening illness strikes it brings a bit of reality to it all.

There is always the option of going after Clay, pay overs and bring the whole family down to Melbourne.

So you are no longer a Collingwood Supporter then?
No Dave

I've become what I always hated when I was a kid, the bitter and twisted collingwood supporter. We all become one at some point, I never understood as a little fella....but watching your club continually **** themselves over and just be a basket case....I now completely understand

it's a natural progression for the young, wide (one) eyed optimistic little feels to turn into the bitter, twisted, old supporter who has seen it all before but the love can't let them walk away.

Collingwood shit me

So you think the Club are run by Idiots and Eddie and Bucks has to go?

We were already a shadow in 2012, now it's nothing but a distant memory.

Feel sorry for you lot having to put up with those ******* lions supporters until this is over...

Anyway I'm asking this purely for selfish reasons (I want a ******* KPF!!!) but if you guys end up with pick 4, what type of player do you think you'd be looking at?

I'm assuming at this stage if the order stays the same, St K - Petrecca, Melbourne - Brayshaw (surely, surely Melbourne go with Brayshaw) GWS - who ******* knows

Dont bid on moore and u might get your KPF. Just saying
