If it wasn't for family reasons and it was about chasing glory, why wouldn't he choose Hawks, Cats etc.
I'm choosing to believe it's a legitimate reason for him leaving & we should work toward a trade that's mutually beneficial for both parties.
Now it's up to Brisbane & Gold Coast to come up with a deal that suits us - they can fight over him.
All this talk of holding him to ransom is uncalled for and small minded.

Well if we could somehow snare Dangerfield out of this I'd be all for it.

At a minimum it has to be a first rounder and a player.

A Redden/Rich type and a first round pick would be bloody good.

I'm ****in shattered about Beamsy leaving. Just as he's coming into the prime of his career. The club needs to stand strong here. This frees up a lot of salary cap room.

Let's throw a 7 year deal for 8mil in front of Dangerfield. He won't say no. He couldn't possibly say no. Do it pies.

One thing that I think gets missed in trades is the proven v potential element. Sure, a top five pick will more than likely be a supreme AFL player, but there are never any guarantees. Trading a proven star like Beams, in his prime, deserves more than a early first round pick purely on the risk element. Maybe, I'm just showing an inherent bias..

I agree and I'm not likening him to Gary Ablett, but he is in his prime and I believe he is the most or was the most important player in our team. IMO will need someone similar and that's why I think Dangerfield is a must.

I'd be interested to know what our win loss record is with him in and out of the team. Losing Ball also this year just compounds the issue.

Brisbane has said its not going to trade its pick 4 constantly. Either it was holding back to get Beams or they really aren't trading it. Gold Coast have a gun midfield and don't need Beams. I think we are going to struggle to get a decent trade for him.

So he stays, he is contracted and we go through it again next year.

Beams and his manager are not dumb, they know that if he declares he wants to go then Brisbane have to have convinced him they can do the deal.

Team has been decimated by Eddie and bucks. When top tier players arnt performing and want to leave it just gives u a pretty damn clear idea of what's going on, on the inside.
