Why are Brisbane disclosing the exact details of the trade so early? And why are we setting hard limits?

Judging by the tone of the Lions list manager, he's too relaxed for a club about to pay a fair deal, almost arrogant in a sense. On the other hand, Hine sounds angry, frustrated and concerned. Beams leaving the B&F was the nail in the coffin.

I'm really worried, I feel like we're in some serious trouble right now :(

You seriously got that from listening to Hine?

The guy couldn't be more calm if he tried.

I think we should refuse to trade him this year and spend next year trying to get him convince him, if he decides to leave again then we go after the free agent Dangerfield.

A risk worth taking imo.

Hine doesn't really show any emotion. I haven't heard anything in his voice that concerns me.
Schwab is an interesting cat and tends to react strangely in situations. I wouldn't read too much into his behaviour at this stage. Them saying what they won't give now can be backtracked on quite easily by saying a player was happy to go 'home' etc.
What you can bank on is Lethal having his hand firmly entrenched in Schwabby's rear.

pick 5 + Zorko/Hanley/Aish/Rockliff/Mayes/Redden will not happen.

pick 5 + 24 is too low so I have a feeling Brions will have to trade and come up with a pick in the teens on top of pick 5. And we will accept that.

No it's that time of the cycle though. The part where Collingwood egos tear Colligwood apart when the club should have had a strong periood and won flags. It's more a decade by decade cycle than a monthly one.

If you've got Brisbane trolls given you the kudos you know you've got NFI.

Honestly, Pick 4+Hanley+Aish is even.

Since we're getting ripped off, Pick 4+Aish/Mayes

Any less will be one of the greatest robberies in VFL/AFL history, and a disgrace to the game.

From the outset that has seemed like the most likely outcome.

Both sides sound very relaxed (unlike the supporters), hopefully some constructive progress can be made over the next couple of days.

GC will crack a stiffy over the prospect of Beams. You don't go for Malceski if you don't think you are making an assault in the next few years.

Pick 8 and 15 or pick 8 and McKenzie is better than 5 and a pick in the 20s for my money.

It's at the stage where it is up to Brisbane to find a third party that will please us. That third party should not be North Melbourne because I want Greenwood to be player separate to what we get from Beams.

I don't care if Brisbane give us pick 5, because I don't want that pick at all, they should give it to another club and what other draft pick they are willing to trade and then we will assess if we accept it. If not he comes back and we spend 12 months trying to convince to stay and if that doesn't work out well, like I said in my previous post we lose him but we go after Dangerfield.

You should go an listen to MarkT2 on your board, he is speaking some sense in all of this and he is a Collingwood supporter.
MarkT2 is one of our resident pessimists. You'd be wise to to take what he says with a grain of salt.
Anyone who thinks we were reamed in the Shaw/Adams trade hasn't got their head screwed on right.

Yeah that's what I see as the only route.

It's not our only route.

If these picks are on offer then we deal with the GCS. Or perhaps better for us, GWS. If things turn really bad, he could end up at Seaport. There's a long way to go on this one.

If it is not going to happen they better find another pick in the top 10! OR Beams wish to play with his brother wont happen. Best case scenario will be in the same state as his brother, not at the same club.
The Bears have found the wrong club to play hardball with! becouse they got ripped off last year they expect us to pay for it! Bears could go and hibernate and offer there pick 4 for Dangerfeild , Fyffe, and Ablet since they think pick 5 is worth so much.
The Bears, Beams and there fans are acting like selfish spoiled school girls when it comes to this trade. Maybe they will come to the realization on Friday at 5pm that the Beams deal will just be a pipe dream. it will hurt them if he ends up at the Goldcoast, if his reason about leaving Collingwood are honorable he wants to be close to his father , he would see the Goldcoast as a fair compromise.

Collingwood gain: Pick 5, 25 and Greenwood
Collingwood lose: Dayne Beams and pick 28

Brisbane gain: Dayne Beams and pick 29
Brisbane lose: Pick 5, 25, Patfull

GWS Gain: Joel Patfull
GWS lose: Pick 24 and Sam Frost

North Melbourne Gain: Pick 24 and Sam Frost
North Melbourne lose: Levi Greenwood

There. Everyone's happy.

Oh well the AFL have thrown the hand grenade we all suspected was coming - Brisbane's picks 4 and 24 are now now picks 5 and 25, which probably changes things a bit on more than one front...
