Playing Melb twice this year presents us with such a good opportunity to bury them. winning those two games would surely improve their pick by 2-3 spots. They are very vulnerable and their history would suggest they are every chance of capitulating
I posted early in this thread that if you need a team that is seemingly on the edge of success to completely fail, then you couldn't pick a better club than Melbourne.

The boys are also thoroughly enjoying all the negative comments Lever is getting in Victoria.
I’ve said this numerous times but trade out Sloane for Saints first (Rankine) and bring in Gaff. We will be better off short term and long term.

Why would Saints give us their 1st pick when they can get him as a free agent?
Same reason as Geelong, because we insist we will match any offer.
If he decides he wants to leave we have no bargaining power, no way they give up a top 5 draft pick. Best we will get is the end of 1st round compo pick

Sloane is still a top 10 talent.
If we say we'll match any offer they have the option of matching or letting us keep him.
If they chose not to trade for him there'll be plenty of other clubs lining up.
He can't just go to the draft, there's no way he doesn't go in the top few picks.

Gaff isnt coming here. He just isnt.
I think we would just take our compo pick with Sloane as he has been a good servant of the club and it would be around his value. I think we will get around pick 12 for him.
