Yeah, I see what you mean, but I think that maybe it’s that Melbourne are soft and he’s a hard coach. Too many excuses at that place. The bailing for the camp is a case in point. Melbourne have been a nothing club my entire life and I don’t see that changing.
They did have a good period under Daniher. Making a GF against a star studded Essendon.

If he goes you know he'll be back at the Crows in something else capacity next year. Or he'll at least fill a spot in the media until a spot opens up.

As much as I loved Goodie as a player... I have no respect for him as a coach. He has made some very poor choices in recent years.

They’ll turn whoever they get into a complete and utter spud under Hinkley anyway..
This!
It astounds me that it doesn't get more air time. The amount of highly rated youngsters that the pear have picked up (never seen them pull out any surprise smoky gold ah-la ogilvie, just those that are 'sposed to go high'), have a good looking first year or two only to disappear into the oblivian. The kids obviously have the talent, just takes a couple of seasons for the pear too ruin them. Their development is diabolical.
Difference between a first rounders being eventually traded for **** all and end up coming good for their new club (imply, even ben jacobs), and turning rookie picks into gold (laird, pick 12 for cameron).

paywall, care to share the reason?
JAKE Lever had read enough.

After digesting weeks of criticism feeding off his ordinary start for Melbourne, Lever pulled out his phone and deleted Twitter.

“I just had to,”

“It got too much. Footy is so scrutinised now that if you stuff up one thing it’s all over Twitter (and) it’s all over a news article.”

Lever, 22, has copped it since last year’s Grand Final loss to Richmond.

First the Crows fans turned on him for requesting a trade, then it was Adelaide’s captain, Taylor Walker, and this season critics from across the footy world have queued up to question his output.

Lever said it was time to realise the perils of social media have become a “serious issue” in the AFL.

“It’s about understanding that footballers are human,” he said.

This season Lever has lost only two of 11 defensive one-on-ones — 18 per cent.

That ranks 10th in the AFL, while Essendon’s Michael Hurley has lost eight of 17 (47 per cent).

In fact, Lever and Hurley are neck and neck in the AFL player ratings, which clubs regard highly, yet the similarly high-priced Bomber hasn’t drawn negativity.

What did he expect when Adelaide had faith in him after his injury only to leave us for $$$? Flowers or chocolates sent to his door?

Initially when Dangerfield left I was quite angry, but i'm over it as atleast Danger produced and stayed for a long period of time unlike Lever who left after what 2-3 years?

My thoughts are that Ken does really well to motivate them early on and makes them believe they are good players, then eventually they realise maybe they are not so great.

Has Houston been playing this year? He came from a rookie list.
