Seems that something is definitely not right down at Demonland.

The Demons have ordered assistant coach Brendan McCartney down to the bench from the coaches’ box, a move the club says will add experience and nous to an interchange area already boasting ex-captain Todd Viney. But foxfooty.com.au can reveal McCartney, as experienced and respected as he is, did not gel with his fellow coaches in the box over the first month of the season, leading to a change of role ahead of the Anzac Day eve clash against Richmond.

The 57-year-old, who is vastly qualified as an assistant at Richmond, Essendon, Geelong and a senior coach for three seasons at the Western Bulldogs, has not been as warmly received in the coaches’ box as Simon Goodwin and co had hoped.

Looking to next round against Essendon it’s a good chance for Lever to play Daniher into some form. If I remember correctly Daniher kicked 3 goals in about 10 minutes on Lever last year, and that was the moment we realised Lever couldn’t defend.

Good chance to be 2-4 next week.

No, we already knew he couldn't defend.

That was Pyke trying to let Lever come to the realization himself.

He was much better last night not having to stand an opponent. Everyone who plays Melbourne will make sure he needs to.
