I also agree with picking up Farren Ray.

Handy, versatile and would cost us nothing. He would not be a walk up start in the first 22 but is a seasoned body that we can use in resounds 12-18 when our young guys are feeling the pressures of league football. With limited rotations and no subs, seasoned and hardened players like Ray will be an asset. He also bring some leadership qualities to the side, and finals experience.

Can't hurt to have him and I see him as the best option out there.
 
Farren Ray is a very very ordinary footballer who is extremely lucky to have played as long as he did. We have absolutely zero list need for him and he can offer nothing in terms of further development or experience that we don't already have. He offers absolutely nothing to our best 22 or even VFL depth for that matter. He won't play seniors and shouldn't play seniors for us so why tf would we recruit a guy to play VFL? We delisted Dwyer this year and you guys want to recruit Farren Ray to take his place.... so glad you're not in charge.

My advice is to somehow review your suggestion above & mix it with your username & I'm sure the answers will come from out of the blue. ;)
 
Farren Ray must be picked up!!!
Finals next year guys we need more experience
not saying treloar won't start but Aish may struggle and Ray brings that elite outside game
marking and goal kicking cannot be overated

End of the day, you can find faults for every delisted free agent. If they were any good, they wouldn't have been delisted in the first place.

The cold hard facts are we have 3-5 spots to fill (assuming Oxley is given a contract, if he hasn't already) and 1 pick in the top 60 in a shallow draft. Either way, we'll be getting at least 2 players who has big question marks. We may as well pick up 1 who has at least played afl and knows what's required.

WESTERN Bulldogs youngster Farren Ray said victories over Collingwood are sweeter than most partly because Pies fans are so "feral".

"I think everyone loves to beat Collingwood," Ray said. "You'd love to beat every side but beating Collingwood because their supporters are so feral.

When we have such a good record at picking up players late in the draft why would we even consider picking up the likes of Farren Ray, Ahmed Saad, Majak Daw or any other rejects that have been mentioned?

I totally agree, Gorringe would be he handy player for us and probably best suits our needs.
Daw is an interesting one, there are times he could be a world beater but there also times where he looks like he has no idea what is going on. Notrh plan to rookie list him so if we are interested in him it will need to for a senior list spot.

Considering Daw has a pending court case and possible jail time you can't spend a senior spot on him. Also he won't be playing senior footy in 2015 he simply isn't good enough.

Forgot about the court case. He may not be available to play in 2016 and beyond so the safe bet is to pass on him.
 
If we don't take a DFA then we need Hine to work his magic & net some late talent from the draft.

Gorringe might be a clever choice as it gives us options at the trade table next year for getting back into the first round.
We already have 3 rucks that could get a place the 22 and it may push Gorringe to lift his game - giving us serious currency.

Farren Rays career highlight is getting picked up with pick 5 in the national draft. I don't think in all his time in football be has added to his highlights.

A big NO from me. Not what out club requires, but could suite Carlton's needs.
