Tabscott & Thetackle - What the F*ck are you guys on about? Are you trying to create a rivalry with CY's? Do you remember that we play you at home next time around? We have enough healthy rivalries with current teams, one which we are playing this weekend.

Man up and leave your trash talk to game day and not be a boy and post it on Big Footy. I bet you two are the last two to say a word to us out on the ground.

I'm sure your coach and president are happy that after those comments you have fired the CY's up and have now added a little extra for the redemption game. Thanks!!

If you need Bigfooty comments to fire you up you're playing the wrong game.

A nice little break for some teams to enjoy after this week while the others will be licking their wounds and looking for ways to right the ledger. And about this week's matches:

North Old Boys vs Old Paradians
Old Geelong vs Banyule
Williamsrown vs Peninsula
Old Mentonians vs Bulleen Templestowe
Whitefriars vs Parkdale

Enjoy next weekend off everyone !

Wow, no rants on this board from anyone for ten days ! Did EVERYONE take the week off and head to the snow ?

Well, footys back this week, so here are my selections:

Bulleen Templestowe vs North Old Boys
Old Paradians vs Old Mentonians
Parkdale vs Old Geelong
Peninsula vs Whitefriars
Banyule vs Williamstown

Lets get back to the footy .
Went to the banyule vs parkdale game last weekend. have been watching A grade games over the past 3 years. And this contest was of a very high standard. Suggest that 8 players of each team would get a game in A grade easy. The pressure was full on for 4 quarters. Boland was magnificient in defence for parkdale. And the backline for Banyule was top class. the parkdale forwards couldn't get into the game.
looking forward to the replay parkdale vs banyule later in the year.

Possibly the most silly post I read this season...Remember that these are two D1 teams playing each other..not an indication of any players ability to play C Section let alone the top level in Ammos. Pressure and intensity plus skill level increases each step up a level and double again in Premier Section.
Probably 2-3 players from each team at best could make the transition to Premier level with a pre season and practice matches under their belt.

And yes I've seen both clubs play too...

Outa.

Another quiet week on this board, especially with the half way mark reached and some teams fortunes swinging in the breeze.

Round 10.

Old Geelong vs Bulleen Templestowe
Williamstown vs North Old Boys
Parkdale vs Old Paradians
Old Mentonians vs Whitefriars
Banyule vs Peninsula

I disagree. Most players can make the jump.
(We know that Parkdale have recruited some quality players, and Banyule have Abe, Masters etc. All of these players could play A Grade easily)

OI is the perfect example. Came from D Grade to A grade in 4(ish) years. Suddenly, half a team have moved from D Grade to A grade and adapted ok. Admittedly they added recruits along the way to strengthen their line up, but the D Grade-kids were good enough to play at the top level.

Weribee is another example...do you believe that these kids who have dominated E,D and C Grade can't move up to B grade and then A Grade standard? With some good recruits around them they will adapt to the A Grade way.

Followed up by a dumb post by you... Whilst the standard is no where near A grade to say that only 3 players max from either side would get a game in any A grade side is a joke. If you think a few years back st bedes won C, B and A flags in 3 years and im sure a significant number of the players from that A grade premiership were also playing for them when they were in C-grade, and the standard of C is definately not a considerable jump up from D1.

Right here right now a max 2-3 players from each of the two clubs with a pre season could play Premier Section and sorry but not 8 -10 from each club...perhaps 'if' these teams move through the grades some others may develop their game like palyers from St. Bedes did, like Whitefriars did prior to them but couldn't maintian it in A Section and Old Ivanhoe did before them but there have been numerous other clubs progress up grades, they hit road blocks along the way and their playing stocks don't progress to cope with the new level of ability and intensity in higher levels.

Okay then . lets say 4 players from each side. Are we all happy now ?

Not trolling here.... but rumours are starting to gain momentum again that Parkdale are rejoining the SFL in 2012. They were big last year & the word was they were almost there but couldn't get the deal they wanted (SFL Div 1)

Now we are hearing that an offer is back on the table for them to re join & its a done deal??

Is it rumour or fact that both Parkdale and Keysborough have applied to join the SFL in 2012?

Not sure about Keys but Parkdale are
They are sick of all the travel

Now Parkdale last year swore til they were blue in the face they it was all BS but the issue has popped up again. With Parkdale a chance to be premoted to C Grade do they chose to stay in the VAFA over less travelling, more bar sales, bigger crowds & the ability to pay players to attract them to the club?

Can anyone from the Vultures elaborate?

Will never happen. There you go. End of story.

The rumour i have heard down at Parkdale is that they want to stay in the amateurs and beat the St Bedes Record ...i.e ( C grade to B grade to A Grade in 3 years).
they want to go From D Grade to C Grade to B grade to A grade in 4 years !

they have a couple of u/19 premier - premiership players - running around in the D grade reserves, warming up for the challenge ( namely chad ryan and jesse tobin )

Ha Ha ....you're having a lend?

They'd be best to concentrate on ticking off the 1st box and win the D Grade Flag. 100-1 to be in A Grade in 2014.

If the kids are good enough, they'd be playing seniors....

you're having a lend, right?

Was in the pipelines apparently then they heard Stephens was back training at Skye and decided against it. Wise move.

No one in there right mind would want W.H.O.P. to go at each other.

Looking forward to seeing Rhett Masters drag his fat rig around Friar park tomorrow. He might find the wide expansions a little bit different to the small sh!t quaility EFL grounds that he's used to.

He looks like his spent his 30 silver coins on fast food!

So, can the Bears jugernaut continue to roll and will the relegation battle be just about over come Saturday night?

Round 11.

North Old Boys vs Parkdale
Old Geelong vs Williamstown
Old Paradians vs Buleen Templestowe
Peninsula vs Old Mentonians
Whitefriars vs Banyule

Good to have you back, Kruzer...always enjoy your comments.
Looking at the results, though, it appears it was the Friars who were found out.

Banyule are a very good side as seen by them being undefeated, but they are probably better than any of the sides who have dominated D1 in recent years, if they keep them together they will keep moving

Seems the race for the other 3 spots is really heating up, a couple of shock results over the last couple and now NOBs are right back in the race and Peninsula might even be able to squeeze in if they keep their form up

Whilst at the other end of the table it appears relegation is pretty much sorted

Bit Harsh Kruzering, It's not his fault that he is only the third best player in his familiy, has to change clubs every year so he gets a game in the firsts and has an eating disorder.

word down south is that the coach left during last weeks game, Gareth Snow is believed to be the replacement coach.

Rumour has it that the Panthers had less than a dozen players named for the magoos on Thursday night. Had to do a Friday phone hook-up to get a team.
