Competitive hit-out against The Power from House but in the end, they had to feel the snake-bite. Expect the House to play finals this year...

Seems quite a few teams have recruited/merged very well. Should be a really competitive year!

Albert Park v Hawthorn an early contender for game of the year. Lead changed six or seven times in the final quarter. Great to watch.

Div 3 wil be a very, very interesting season methinks.
hawthorn looks a step above the rest early and i think they can be monasira if it came down to it
Parkside also look majorly out of depth early, anyone have a suggestion why?

They finished 6th last year with a 9/9 record. Had a good finals series and got up a grade. Reserves were horrific so it was always going to be tough coming up.

Hard to know. Cobras lost 25 players from last years grand final senior and reserves sides from reports. Glen eira have are the great unknown after gaining 15 senior gryphons.

Not sure where you are getting you mail from UW. Speculating on player movement may be acceptable on preseason, but we now have 3 rounds of footy which is surely a better reference.

The Cobras have only become more venomous in 2016 and our forwards are as potent as any in the comp.

re: Hawthorn, that was one hell of a win down at Rathmines, I reckon it will be mouthguards and runners at St James tonight. Swinburne would have had high expectations for 2016 and at 1-2 with a loss like that, the pressure would be on early. 17 goals to 3 in the second half is :eek::eek:...

Predictions for this week.

Aquinas over Souths- 12 points
Powerhouse over UHS- 12 points
Glen Eira over La Trobe- 1 point
Albert Park over Elsternwick- 24 points
Hawthorn over Parkside- 60 points
Canterbury over Swinburne- 24 points

Impossible to make any prediction on who are the standouts are this early in the season. Canterbury and Glen Eira have played the exact same sides with almost identical results, while Hawthorn has played sides you'd expect to be hovering around the bottom of the table.

Also, can someone confirm for me that St James park is the smallest ground in the VAFA?

Conclusion of Round 6 is when we have some idea I think. 1/3 of the way through the season.
