Vafa tragics still rating Monash Gryphons demotion from D2 to D3 as story of the "Divisions".
Surely there are better "feel good" stories than a team being gifted open access to as many players from a club in a grade above and then surprisingly doing well in a lower division, it's not as if they were "chadstoneesque" last year.
Surely the performances of q number of sides in D3 alone deserve more credit:
Hawthorn who have been close to the most winning side in D3 and D4 home and away seasons for 4-5 years continue to do so, and look super impressive again.
Canterbury who three years ago were as close to a non entity as possible have turned them selves around are a chance to proceed further up the grades.
LaTrobe who I think (and stand to be corrected) have only avoided relegation the last two seasons due to other clubs withdrawing, look to have the bones of a good squad that may push deep this year.
But no, let's keep pushing the agenda of headquarters version of "good news". If Monash win, there will be only two parties that think it is a reasonable result, VAFA and Monash. Will be right up there with self congratulatory performance of St Francis Xavier and the VAFA on their glorious 2015 Cub XVIII (2) victory last year when went form D2.
A positive is Geln Eira 2's are decidedly pathetic by the looks in Clubbies this year.
