Chadstone back to D3 it seems?

That's great news, congratulations Chadstone.

Instagram hadn't been updated in 222 weeks, checked out facebook, found this. Good on them for giving it a crack, does say aiming though, and not to be a negative Ned but they probably want more blokes at training than the picture shows. Wonder if Westbourne are giving it a crack as well, and mentone panthers. If all 3 of them get up they could've kept division 4

Interesting timing given the D3/4 merge. Will be a tough run back after a few years in the clubbies.

Hopefully they get the numbers and put 2 teams on the park every week.

what's the quality of talent in clubbies? I assume it's going to be a tough slog going up against teams like Canterbury & Power House

Had 2 wins in the last 5 years in D4 before moving to Clubbies. Some very heavy losses.

Honestly it will be rough but hopefully with the right people pushing it forward could be good for them long term

mate if he wants the big stories he should be sniffing around at NB. mass exodus is what im being told, half the premiership team from last year has walked. clubs in shambles
I heard the North Brunny players are off to Canterbury....they were sick of the Moondogs at Allard Park; and the Cobras new coach got on the blower with the promise of CuB beers and Bundy and diet cokes.

Almost guaranteed a premiership as well; considering they refused to go up from the lowest grade....?? get off the couch Chips.

Who is going to get close to Canterbury? Cant see anyone beating them this season, especially if rumors are true about the NBFC exodus

Depends how well teams like Box Hill, Powerhouse, Richmond and AP have recruited. In Saying that it seems pretty quiet on the socials with the new recruitments

Any news on Richmond Central?

Long time reader, first time poster

Centrals will be miles better from last year, core group have stayed. And have now played together for roughly 3-4 years. Some ins and some outs, but getting 35 odd to pre season training on mondays and around 20 blokes at thursday running sessions since mid November.

New coach hungry to learn as well as push the boys in the right direction. In turn the players have bought in.

With the restructure it seems a lot of the boys understand the opportunity given and are more than ready to hit 2024 with a bang. Don’t be surprised if they’re up there towards the end of the year.

the 2's were dominant last season but that didn't correlate to the 1's improving. Will you see many of those 2's players create a greater core of good quality senior footballers for next year?

Best player has left to Ashwood for coin?

Great depth, driven past training a few times last year, huge numbers on the track, thirds are in a decent division too albeit not sure how connected they actually are to the club.

Wide open comp next year with the division merge, anyone could win it!

Our 2s depth has always been massive, correlating into senior footy can sometimes be hard, especially with players nominating to not play 1s. Core group is mainly of players of senior list from past couple years but some more 2s trying to dig in.

As far as the ashwood comment, if it’s the player you’re saying they’re not leaving.

The competition will be awesome next year, keen to see how La Trobe go with recruitment. Think they’re sneakily a good team, us and them have had some good battles throughout 2023.

As far as canterbury have they lost anyone? Bit confused as to how come they haven’t gone up to div 2. Close to best team all year?

Yeah, agreed, You don't want players to leave due to disagreements with coaches on preferences, A lot of older players simply don't have the time or energy for 1's as they get older with families etc, Some coaches don't take no for a answer which usually makes the player(s) leave for somewhere else.

I'm not biting on the Canterbury business, didn't make the grand final, why should they automatically have to go up due to the VAFA restructuring the divisions because clubs are jumping ship or folding ? Thats not their fault at all. Good on them I say

I think you’re lying tbh , I’ve seen multiple Richmond players move to doveton and ashwood so I don’t think you’ll be much chop next year tbh, and as for 2s guys being cowards not playing ones is terrible culture.

Cowards? lol. Everyone circumstances are different, why would you turn your back on a player because they don't wanna commit to ones? Could be time related, family related. Happens everywhere.

…. Exactly.

As for league bnf leaving this was known for months just wasn’t sure as to where. No one is moving to ashwood anymore though.

Doesn’t mean much, players have come in. Either way excited to see how things go next year should be a good close comp, wishing everyone the best of luck.
