AFL Club
Collingwood
I hope that the staff at collingwood and the playing group in particular push the fact that they have the opportunity to do something very special for this club, that we have not been able to do for 20 years, and 3 great sevants of the club in Tarks, Josh and Obree, wont get a chance to be amogst it due to the pace of the game catching up with them. I think the players should keep these guys at the back of their mind when out there, and really try to do it for them

I'd prefer them to do it for the supporters who have waited so long and paid a lot of money waiting for the day than players who are getting paid ridiculous money to play vfl.

No need to put 20 years of pressure on to them. They shouldn't need to do it for anybody apart from themselves and their team. If they need extra motivation at this time of year then something is seriously wrong.

They should be doing it for them self. They shouldn't worry about anyone else because in the end it will hurt all the supporters but we will move on and look forward to our next chance. If win this year 77 79 80 81 02 03 will not enter my mind but I bet all the players who played in those losing grand finals remember them well.

This is where I think the AFL "fails" the premier a little bit.

I think every player who plays at least one senior game should be given a premiership medal, similar to how they are given out in the EPL, NBA, and the NFL.

It makes sense, after all, if we win the flag, it's won't be because of 22 players, it will because of the 30+ who have played for us this year.

DO IT AFL, it's not that hard to implement.

Thought this thread was for the 'old bloke' supporters haha. I'm more worried that I'll never seen a flag in my lifetime, so hurry up and win it so I don't have to be stressing about this when I'm fifty, boys!

I'm pretty sure, in the lead-up to the 2002 GF, Eddie said he'd do something similar. Give a Collingwood Premiership Medallion (Colligwood sanctioned, not AFL sanctioned) to every player on the list who'd played a minimum set number of games across the season.
