But it wasn't cheating. It isn't even cheating now, the other team just gets a free kick

Are you really that delusional to compare something that happens in a game, the penalty for which is a free kick, as is pushing in the back, incorrect disposal and a myriad of other things, with a systematic injection of players with things that were either illegal, or they didn't know what they would do to humans?

I mean, are you actually making that comparison? Seriously
The strategy of rushing behinds to take time off the clock was very dangerous for the game and it was lucky the AFL caught onto it

cheat is an interesting word.. Richmond in a game a few years ago rushed behind after behind after behind to win a match by just walking it over time and time and again to run the clock down

Against the spirit of the game yes
Bringing the game into disrepute yep
Cheating ? well yes
Did they get kicked out? no

Yep, agree entirely. Sound.

Do I support Essendon as per Little's comments....ummmm...... let me put it this way.

The EFC ( meaning their Board and their mouth piece Little)their self righteous response to this entire serious and sordid affair has been from day one nothing short of deplorable.
Essendon's attitude of denial as to the severity of their actions other than the admission of tardy and poor procedures and record keeping, is simply laughable and insulting to the wider AFL community.
Furthermore the Clubs defiant, belligerent indignation in response to the criticism of their lack of duty of care towards the players under their care is detestable.
I am a father of a young sportswoman of a similar age to the Essendon players and I would find it both extremely disturbing and worrying that a sporting organisation could have possibly compromised the long term health and wellbeing of my child.
It's a breach of trust so serious that should..... and hopefully will...... be met with criminal charges.

The EFC actions are a blight on Australian sport, our wonderful game, but even more so their actions have brought the whole AFL community into disrepute and as such Essendon's expulsion is warranted . Simply put the EFC defiant stance and attitude shows NO remorse and as such clearly demonstrates that they are no longer fit to be entrusted to manage the sporting welfare of our nations finest.

So how do I feel about the EFC I hope as a result of their irresponsible actions and lack of remorse they get closed down and removed from the AFL.
Enough of the niceties of language in the vernacular the fact that the Club shows no remorse its time to @#&* Essendon off.

Quite honestly, if this whole saga ends with the AFL no longer having a team called Essendon in it, it wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

It would bother me. There is no good way for a club to crash and burn but this would be the worst way I can think of.

Little is wrong. I dispute nearly everything he has said so far and I'm pretty sure its all smoke and mirrors and he's aware that it is.

That said, if Essendon were to fold if all of this blows up in their faces then they are the sole architects of their own demise. I hope they survive but only after the ASADA evidence gets past this legal tomfoolery and gets presented to the proper panels for consideration. Essendon have behaved terribly throughout of all of this saga and burned a lot of goodwill and Little is doing everything exactly wrong in my view.

I was a big fan of Hird. Always was but no longer. I was a big fan of Lance Armstrong as well but Hird's actions have put a great club in massive jeopardy and he shouldn't be welcomed back, especially by Essendon.

My vote depends on what scotch is being passed?

Lagavulin, Ardbeg, and/or Laphroaig?

Sorry Freo supporters,

Agreed with him that McDevitt whored himself out to any media that was willing this morning. Didn't understand that given the investigation so far, he had a chance to correct things but still ****ed it up. The dilemma for the AFL is they already handed out penalties, not sure where they go from here if it gets to AFL tribunals for people already suspended/fined.

Just watched Little with his enough is enough projecting concern for the players when his actions are all about protecting his and others position in the club, and would seem to me not to be in the best interests of the players. Get off on a technicality - WOW. If he thinks this is going to end well he just hasn't been paying attention.

There must be some decent members out there that can clean out the Board and the management, and come up with some sort of strategy to save this club.
I'll support any player that puts their hand up and admits that they did the wrong thing. I'll support the EFC if the Board and management put their hand up and accept responsibility for mismanagement of the highest order.

Hmm.... Very convincing argument

I have found Essendons treatment of this whole saga horrible. Excuse after excuse, its sad how so many Essendon supporters come out with this hatred for Damian Barrett when he has more or less been bang on the money (and in my opinion very objective in his reporting). If Geelong had handled themselves in this way my lifelong support of them would probably be pushed to/beyond the brink, regardless of the outcome of this investigation.

PR exercise, demonstrating to the public that ASADA is prepared to be reasonable in offering the players a deal to minimise the upheaval to their careers. There would scarcely be a neutral football follower in the country who supports the Bombers' legal action.

Players still have time to respond. I'd be interested to hear from the CFW how many have sought out their own legal representation.

I actaully support their court action because i think that the bulk if not all of the players were unaware that they were given banned drugs, if of course in the first place that the susbstances were actually banned,[/QUOTE]

unaware means Jack s*** when will you intelligent people realises this

Little's comments are bluster. They will not fight. They can't. Even if they win on the technicality, ASADA will hold another investigation. EFC are continuing to run a PR war - and it is failing. Their legal strategy was dead long ago.

Not as dangerous as deliberately doping players with materials not fit to be used on humans......

Most people I speak to seem to either not care or think it's a bit of a beat up (or just enjoy trying to gee me up about it). As with all things if people are content with something you don't hear from them. If they are dis-satisfied with it they will vent their anger on the internet - hence why everything on the internet is 'delusional' this and '#whateverittakes' that.

Lets face it, most people come to bigfooty to either complain about the umpires, rub their last win into the opposition supporters, or have a crack at Essendon. Not many impartial opinions (no matter how hard people appear to be un-biased) on this board that's for sure.
