Like I said, if only I could like your post twice.

do you also beleive in the tooth fairy father Xmas and the Easter bunny lol

Like everyone, at some stage I did.

Still think it will stink if the players are suspended, i am firmly of the belief that if they did taken banned drugs, they were not aware that they were doing so.

I don't want to see the club destroyed, but I do want to see the club brought to its knees to the point that the supporters start to realise and accept what their club has done and rather than stay in denial, get to sweeping a broom through the club and removing all the sycophants like Little and Hird.

It is a shame Essendon did not put as much effort/money into the program at the beginning to stop the abhorrent practice of systematic doping of its players.

Where was the moral imperative then that they are now promoting as "we only have our players welfare at heart".

I think your poll is ridiculous, it is stupidly slanted, after reading many of your former posts, i believe you have let yourself down with this one, you have done way better in the past.

I actaully support their court action because i think that the bulk if not all of the players were unaware that they were given banned drugs, if of course in the first place that the susbstances were actually banned,
Well why did they accept the sanctions (finals ban, draft ban, coach ban, officials fined & club fine of 2 mill) if there is doubt over their guilt?? Surely they would have battled it out 10 months ago.
They thought they could bury it last August that's why.
Now they will attempt some fancy footwork & a bunch of lawyers tricks to dodge the next bullet.
Take on ASADA & therefore WADA at your peril. Just ask Lance.

I'm pleased to see the results of this poll. I'm pleased that in modern sport supporters understand that drug use is now found not by tests, but by investigation, and bodies such as ASADA need sweeping powers to be able to conduct these investigations. And they do - which is why I can't even really understand the basis of Essendon's appeal.

It really just looks like refusing to accept your own misgivings to the detriment of the game, and really just trying to delay the inevitable.

So all you're doing is prolonging the damage for the game, for your own players and their families, and for your members and supporters.

It just seems incredibly short sighted by the Bombers. And it could potentially go on forever, because they're bringing the game into that disrepute area all over again.

Pricks.

Most people I speak to seem to either not care or think it's a bit of a beat up (or just enjoy trying to gee me up about it). As with all things if people are content with something you don't hear from them. If they are dis-satisfied with it they will vent their anger on the internet - hence why everything on the internet is 'delusional' this and '#whateverittakes' that.

Lets face it, most people come to bigfooty to either complain about the umpires, rub their last win into the opposition supporters, or have a crack at Essendon. Not many impartial opinions (no matter how hard people appear to be un-biased) on this board that's for sure.
Doesn't make them wrong though.

Hell no

I have wanted players suspended for the maximum penalty and the club punished to the fullest extent (deregistered) since this whole saga began. They all deserve it at Bomberland because of how smug they have been throughout this process.

The supporters do not get my sympathy.

If they had accepted guilt from the beginning and worked with ASADA it's entirely possible they would have completed all their (reduced) penalties by now and we'd all be able to put this behind us.

They are putting all their energy and $ into discrediting ASADiA on a technicality rather than dealing with the issue at hand. Disgraceful, arrogant leadership that is not in the best interests of the players, club or league.

The strategy of rushing behinds to take time off the clock was very dangerous for the game and it was lucky the AFL caught onto it
Your so right,

This is way worse than feeding your whole team a potentially life threatening cocktail of drugs, in the hope of gaining some advantage.

(Well lookie, the '**** em' team is killing it)

Maybe if they showed just a teeny tiny bit of remorse, instead of that really grating total arrogance, they would get some support on their side.

Me? Sympathy for Essendon the board, nope cut them all loose, never to step foot on the field again. Same goes for Hird and all the other coaches. Yes Thommo too, he did nothing to stop it.

The players, I have some sympathy but not much. I have a lot more sympathy for the teams that got beaten by them when they were on their drug high. (What high?doesnt matter, cheating is cheating wether it works or not) and they should have asked a lot more questions. When you suspect a con man, you don't get a surety written by the con man, you ask someone not involved with the con man.

The fans, plenty, even the delusional, this was not their fault. And they are the only reason I don't want Essendon gone, kaput, extinct.

And that medal goes to the two runners up none of this leave a gap shit, they both earned it, and they deserve it with full honours attached, and a big fanfare to go with it.

Jobe can come back in a couple of years and earn one rightfully.

I think there is sympathy for the players especially if it appears they have been duped by the club.

I also feel sorry for some of the supporter base that there once proud club is in ruins.

But no the tide of opinion has turned on the decision makers at Essendon. It had a chance to gain some respect by copping their whack but this court action just reinforces the view that Essendon feel above the law

We have to remember how incompetent this club was when this happened, what has changed?
I back ASADA/AFL here.

I don't think anyone is claiming that the players contacted ASADA to make sure they were prohibited.

The argument is they didn't ring ASADA to check if they weren't prohibited.

My sympathy for the players has evaporated since they firmly got behind Little's legal gambit attempt yesterday. I now see them as complicit cheats, like the club.

Also my sympathy for Bomber.

I wasn't going to vote as I just want the truth out and people made accountable. At best Essendon don't know what the players were given and that's unacceptable. At worse they intended to cheat and that's unforgivable.

However the new discussion that the Essendon Football Club believe that Tb-4 was an S0 prohibited drug and that they.could by pass S0 ruling has me pissed. I went burn the joint.

Totally irrelevant whether they knew or not. I bet Lance Armstrong didn't know what he was taking either

I think there is sympathy for the players, but zero for Essendon who we all respected at one point but now hate because they are hurting the game we love. In fact, I do wonder if removing them from the competition or merging them off with someone will actually be better for the game long term.

No they should be de-registered and the license given to Tasmania. They are a blight on our great game.

That's an idea I can get right behind!

I'm 6'4 & 125kg, so I consider myself the wider community and I say kill them or demote them to the VFL, get a team up in Tasmania.

Or let them stay, draft penalties for the next 5 years, only allowed to pay 80% of the salary cap for the next 10, with the other 20% to be pooled to cover the medical expenses which may arise for the players as a result of the experiment.

They don't have to die or relocate, move em back to VFL, the diehard supporters can still watch them play. More than Fitzroy or South Melbourne got.

No way in hell that will (or should) happen. AFL would never allow it in a million years. If they're willing to support Melbourne, North and the Dogs you really think they're going to let Essendon go? Haha why even bother discussing it, will never happen.
