With leon and Penis in the side, there is no room for egan in the team imo.

I never rated him and still dont but i reckon he has some currency at the trade table, we might be able to use him to trade for a ruck of some sort.

What do you think?

Egan is a youngster so i don't think he will be going anywhere any time soon. He is a different player to Leon and Dick as he can play a different range of positions. As to the trade currency i don't think we would get much for him.

Ask this question in October. Lets see if he can make his way back into the senior side and see what role he plays.

No, not yet. In saying that, Mick Malthouse and Brad Gotch aren't doing him any favours at the moment. Jarrod Molloy mentioned his "lack of intensity". He was kept in the back-line for 3 and a half quarters, and he is clearly an attacking wingman/half-forward. He won't make it as a half-back at the highest level.

Brad Dick has now made his name at Collingwood. Its fair to say Egan hasn't thus far.

I'd actually promote him on the back of the last two weeks. Yeah, he did some dumb stuff and lacked intensity, but I think when he's in the AFL the intensity and the skills lift accordingly.

What he did do over the past couple of weeks is exhibit fitness and the capability to find it.

Egan has been a little disappointing to date. This is his third year and he should be doing much more.

I reckon if he does not come on this year they will look to trade him. Disappointing for a No. 10 draft pick!

My main criticism of Chris Egan is his defensive skills and attack on the ball. He rarely follows up his kicks or puts in 2nd or 3rd efforts.

Let's hope he can work his way back in the team and prove me wrong.... if he doesnt, I would definately consider including him in a trade for a ruckman next year.

From this draft onwards, I want the pies to follow what the lions have done in the past couple of years and pick a ruckman up in every draft and give them time to mature.

Disagree, Egan kicked 2 and helped get us the win against the Eagles in his first year, then had an even better game last year when he kicked 2 or 3...

Egan is scratchy at the moment but will get better.

Egan & 4th round pick for Charman

Surely you're joking?

He has talent, just hasn't put it together. You'd think he'd get a few more chances.

Even if he wasn't wanted by Collingwood, you wouldn't get bugger all for him. Worth hanging on to him for a little while.

HELL YES... even if he comes good he isn't what we need... if you can involve him in some sort of deal (obviously not just him alone) that gets a line breaking mid or a decent ruckman then do it ffs

Plenty of others to walk first before any sought of thought on trading a 20yr old with plenty of talent, upside and development left in him. Matter of time before he is selected in the senior squad to finally take over some of the older brigade and if not in the first team-adds plenty of depth to our young developing list which is only a good thing. Big plans, big wraps and hopefully a big future in the black 'n' white.

Try asking Hawthorn for a trade for Lewis. Another MM exercise in list management terrorism. He may come good but I can’t see him being a top end player. Not a first round pick IMO. he's still youngm though so we have to stick with him at present. He has no market value anyway right now.
