Sounds like the only way bevo goes is if a succession plan of sorts is done. It seems from the comments further up that moving him out of the tactical role is a stepping stone to that. Just need to hire a good tactical coach that can step up.

And the silence from Grant, Ameet and KWW is deafening to us supporters.

Coaches, like players, come and go. There's a couple of major problems that I have regarding the club in general, these are

- Covid impacted the club's revenue. With that there was a forced cut in the football department including staff/assistants. To make ends meet, they went and got Spangher & Webb. Neither have made any impact on the structure and Smith will not be renewed.

- The loss of Dalrymple has had a flow on effect. While Power has recruited a couple of gems (arguably JUH would have come under the next gen academy), the list is deeply flawed and lacks depth. The strategy of recruiting players like McNeil, McComb, Scott, O'Brien has not only failed IMO but also hampered the investing in the development of the younger players drafted.

- I do feel bad for Bevo to a point, he has to make do with the list we have. There's too much of a gap between the best and worst. Unfortunate but that is the reality.

- Where is the president? I havent seen anything from KWW in the recent months to give supporters any confidence that the administration is paying attention to what's happening on field. Smorgon and Gordon have been the most vocal of the club presidents within the last 25+ years. Not even a whimper from KWW or Bains

Very valid points re. The Board and ceo. They seem to enjoy the CV enhancement of being a part of a football club but lack the leadership and practicality to lead.

That loss yesterday sealed it for me with Bevo. He let Matt Rowell kill us in Darwin, he let Toby Greene single handedly beat us in Ballarat and now he just let Jai Newcomb tear us a new one in Tassie. He was too stubborn to tag him, too stubborn to put West in the middle on him, Newcomb may have killed it still? but at least he would have done something. I think he put B Smith in the middle, but no tag, not only did Smith fumble dreadfully but allowed Newcomb to just do as he wished. Bevo is highly paid and so is Chris Grant as are Webb, Spangler, R Smith and Lade yet between them all they still didn’t decide to tag Newcomb???? Negligent in their duty to the footy club. How much more intelligent and cunning and competitive is Sam Mitchell? Gee if we had Sam Mitchell we’d be an amazing team.

West is a terror in the clinches, and he is able to punish the opposition when he does get it occasionally with but dosent find enough of it at this stage... seems to scream defensive mid/tagger doesnt he?

Don’t shoot the messenger, this is not any of my sources of info but rather coming through someone I 50/50 trust with information.

“There is murmurings of an end of season challenge to spill the board, select group of board members want change that others don’t”

Grain of salt, but this all stems from the last few losses.
Not my information.
passing it on.

He just has to go, it's gone too far in the wrong direction now. I cannot remember a supporter base so angry with the way the club is tracking. It's so frustrating watching them each week.

His inability/refusal to change anything in game and then roll out the same excuses week after week is the most infuriating part.

It's time Bevo, step down, let the dust settle with the supporters so we can all remember you fondly as the magic man that delivered us 2016, not the man who tore the club apart.

We’re GWS of last year. Mentally cooked and relying on two or three blokes to pull wins out of their arse. We need to make change or before you know it we’ll have pissed away a top 4 list.
Too late

The longer they've waited the bigger the tumor has got.

It didn't have to be a crisis, just decisive, confident action. Instead the Club has let Bevo fester.

It gets ugly from here.

Could be - his positioning is terrible but he does give 100% effort, which right now we need more of.
Sometimes you wear the odd mistake from a bloke you know is having a crack.

I see far more from Sonja Hood at North, always fronting their membership and supporters addressing issues and a ray of positivity for that club.
Remarkable effort given all she’s gone through with her cancer diagnosis, surgery and treatment. Some could take a leaf out of her book.
Tough if you don’t like this Leon 😉

I wonder if the same sentiments are given for Collingwood with Pendlebury and Sidebottom. Both were involved in a premiership early in their careers, both involved in losing grand finals later on.
I'd say yes. Once Buckley had that team for a couple of years they looked shite.

We'll never know, but IMO had Malthouse stayed for that period they probably would've been more successful.

Got rid of their coach a few years after making a GF, despite regularly making finals in his tenure. Had a mini list turnover, appointed a new coach and look at them now.

It can be done (hopefully).
