whats wrong with australians? do you even think before what you say?

how on earth did this ad get through the film and tv classification board?

... just remember SUICIDE IS NOT COVERED IN THE FIRST TWO YEARS OF COVERAGE IF YOURE SIGNING UP WITH LIFE INSURANCE...

Why would insurance companies want to sign up people to life insurance if the insured party intends to kill themselves immediately afterwards?

And I can't see how outlining this in an ad for life insurance policies will encourage people to top themselves.

I don't know if anyone elese remembers it but remember the Skins ad where the theme was if you want to be good at sport like African americans you have to wear skins. Nothing was made of it.

Well, that ad didn't go by completely unnoticed but I don't remember it being banned.

You have to love the first comment. How is it racist if it's stating "facts?" There's always a spin when it's the other way around.

edit: banned in NZ

Yeah, that's the same:rolleyes: but any chance to slam Australia, right?

Seems fair enough. Mass hysteria over here because of Corby's assumed innocence vs mass hysteria over there because of assumed racism.

There's not any compelling evidence for either assumption IMO. Knowing how corrupt the Indonesian courts are I think there was a bit more merit to the Corby "outrage" but in essence I think they're comparable.

I don't, aside from the fact that no one should go to jail for cannabis, it's been pretty well established that her family were up to their necks in drug dealing and were likely moving Australian hydro into Bali for the tourist market.

Yeah, Americans & Boer are the same too since they're both originally from Britain....

AA & West Indians may have similar origins but they've been apart long enough to establish seperate identities.

In the carribean, the culture and identities of the people differ from one island nation to the next - people from T&T are different from Jamaicans who are different from Antiguans who are different from those from Barbodos etc., yet according to some they are all supposed to be the same as African Americans...

how do australians feel about the relationship between australia and indians?

the indian media has definitely beat up isolated (possibly?) over indian students being beat up and killed here

probably a different matter altogether?
