Do you wish we picked up buddy franklin

After watching him last week take contested marks and kicking 6 goals i started thinking wouldnt it be great to have him in our forward line. This week he has booted 5 goals in a 1/4. Will be a top player.

Griffen will be great and was less of a risk, but Franklin is the best of the crop.

Would have filled a hole we've had at the Bulldogs for quite a while. But it's not that hard to get over when you look at Griffen.

No. Very glad we picked Griffen. No doubting Buddy's talent, and I do recall at the time having thought why didn't we pick a KPP???.. but after seeing Ryan after a couple of games I felt for sure we'd made the right call. Something about Griff tells me we've got a rare midfield talent who will dominate the competition. Buddy may well become a awesome KPP...he's certainly doing his best impersonation of this today (and last week for that matter) to show this, but for mine, very glad we got Griffen.

franklin is "what if richo could kick straight?" as much as I hate to say it, he is more a rare commodity than griffen.

still, griffen is level-headed captain materia, while franklin is a bit of a head case and maybe still could explode or just head back to WA when he feel slike it.

Ask this question in 10 years time and we can all be wise after the event.

Faced with talent like Franklin and Griffen, you just make your choice and hope it turns out right. On current promise, both look like being first rate talents. Both have potential for further development. Both have good attitudes. If one is clearly better than the other by the end of their careers it will be more a matter of luck than bad judgment.

Oh I know. I'd like both.

Trade any of our tiny mid fielders for someone who is tall and take a mark in the forward line (yes Darcy is there but he's just a resting ruckman who is now 30 with no successor in sight).

Buddy kicked a lazy 9 today...I think it's fair to say both teams won out with Griffen and Franklin, but at the moment, certainly this year, you'd rather have Franklin in your team. However I'm sure that will change over the years, as Griffen is still learning his role in the midfield and are two completely different players in their own right. I look as Griffen as a future captain, can't really see Buddy being captain, but I could obviously be very wrong on both counts.

IMO Lance was behind Griffin last season by a fair way. Ryan had a very good year but yes you would have to say Lance is probably ahead ATM.

True. But the reason he dropped to five was recruiters were concerned over his attitude.

Dogs always considered Griff number 1 on talent so we took him.

Deledio was always going number 1.

Roughhead and Tambling were considered safer bets. I guess sometimes you can be daring and get a Buddy Love or sometimes get a Lawrence Angwin which i'm sure was in the minds of clubs. Luck of the draft i guess.

Always wanted Franklin because I knew he was something special and a matchwinner and today the next big thing arrived.

Still like Griffen though.

In saying that im still happy with Griff.
