only months after the AFL said that they would investigate why a Victorian team hasn't made it to a grand final for a few years, a Victorian team makes the grand final.

I'm not taking anything away from my teams awesome performance this year, they have played their hearts out, but i just find it strange

Geelong have been banging on the door for a few years now, as has Collingwood (although the magpies didn't make it, they were close.) It was bound to happen at some point in the next couple of years.

Everyone needs to get over the Victorian vs Others BS.

Maybe people need to understand that no victorian team has a RIGHT to be in the GF they have to earn it!!

And Geelong has done just that.

This year 3 of the 4 prelim teams Victorian, 4 of the final 6.

Silly thing is if Port were to win tomorrow, next time the topic comes up (if it does again), this year will be used as part of the statistical analysis of the 'worrying trend'. The papers will be hollering next year how it's been 7 consecutive 'interstate' premierships...even though the 2nd, 3rd, 4th placed teams are Victorian, hence you'd have to say the state isn't struggling.

You said interstate. Adelaide is the only other non-interstate team to me, so my choices were somewhat limited.

Its ridiculous and i'm sick of it...the AFL favours the Vic clubs so much and are virtually handing a flag to one of them. Its obvious what they're doing !

I reckon we should set up a committee with some respected ex champs to woork out a way to get NSW,WA and QLD back up to standard of the Vic clubs coz it has reached crisis point

totally agree. if essendon isn't in the grand final i just hope to watch a good game between two good teams. i dont care if they are from victoria or interstate.

Your club gets more to spend, so spend it more wisely.

Here's a thought. Why dont you develop some players from within in stead of trying to build a side made of money chasers.... Everitt Hall etc. Then you may have success in the future that you club built, rather than bought.

Although, having said that, most clubs do it, including my own.

Dont be too concerned. There is no need for an inquest yet. Lets wait another 40 years and if you havent won another premiership in that time. We could think about doing it then. 14 other clubs havent won a premiership since you last did. Maybe we should wait til they all win one before we panic.

Just take it one final at a time Angel, get the Cats over the line first and Sunday will look after itself. The last time my boys won a GF I didn't have a Sunday at all, celebrated Saturday night then woke up on Monday afternoon wondering what the hell happened.
