Well done to your lot. I was very impressed with the way you guys hit targets with such precision. On top of that backs against the wall (being a man down) and a pretty fierce effort from my lot, a tremendous win that you must enjoy !

Unfortunately, you have probably ended our season in terms of final 8 aspirations,
But I hope you blokes make top 4 and give it a real hit.
Far from over.

I know we play a zone defence and Fletcher Roberts isn't directly on their big blokes but surely he gets some credit in being the main key defender in a team that the opposition big blokes has a quiet game? Dixon and Westhoff's form has been good for some time..

Geez port fans being gracious in defeat and making intelligent comments on a great game...

I dunno what to make of this...I need to change my outlook on life

What an absolute cracker of a game though. Joined my Bulldogs supporting mate in the corporate box, the tension was palpable the entire game. We were both pacing.

I think port is being way under-rated in this thread. They are inconsistent but when they are at their best they are as good as anyone, especially at home. And today they brought their A-game (after the first 10 mins), so to get over the top of them in that form is fantastic.

I also won't bitch about the umpiring. It was terrible (forget the free count - it was the decisions that were poor) but I want us to be a team that triumphs over bad umpiring, not a team that sooks about it after losses. No excuses.

And that's what the team is! Couldn't be more pleased.

Yeah it was an absolute ripper...we seem to be involved in a lot of these games and both teams were awesome today.

I guess the idiots on the commentary box will have to come up with a new narrative arc now that we have broken one of the last great hoodoos in the game and won at the home of football the Adelaide oval.

A point on the commentary:
Each game should be done with one pro-home team, one away team and one or more impartial commentators.

Imagine the commentary today if it was Dwayne (for us), Robert Murphy (for you) and Dunstall and Mooney as the impartials.

We don't like having Riccutto do our games either, if you watch the game again listen to how often he throws in the sniping comments against us. Would have much preferred to have your Murphy or Brad Johnson in the commentary box instead of that Crows piece of shit and have some good natured banter going all day.

Enjoy your win.

Well at least we can all agree on something - a shared hatred of Ricciuto.

Honeychurch stepped up and replaced Dahlhaus perfectly, not so annoyed about losing him now.

The Bont is still the best youngsters in the league by some margin. All this crap about Heeney, Petracca, Cripps, Weitering, Hogan being once in a generation talents; the Bont is a once in a big bang cycle talent. Keeps your eyes open and never take them of him, nobody in the past, present or future will see a player like this ever again.
Whilst I'd like to see him get more recognition among people who are supposedly "experts on the game", I don't really mind that the masses don't rate him. Firstly it puts pressure on him to perform but it also means people are more concerned with our team's successes than his personal ones.

Bontempelli's already a top 10 midfielder in the game. If he continues his level of performance over the last year and a half - without even improving on that performance - over the next 10 years, he'll be recognised as one of the best.

But the thing is - he's not even 20, so he is going to improve... as we've seen in recent weeks. Remember last year as we were saying that he was having an impact on games even with 20 touches, but a weakness of his was that sometimes he just needed to impose himself on the contest and get to that 25-30 touch range more often? Well he's done that recently with 5 of his last 6 games with 30 touches.

What a jet. And he's all ours, and he's locked up for years and years to come. He's a future Norm Smith Medallist, Brownlow Medallist and Premiership captain. Maybe all of those three things this year, who knows?

If I were them I would be bemoaning the fact that we kicked straight for once. Plus some pretty freaky goals from Stringer, Bont and Libba. Suspect they are going to do some damage this season, especially if they get Carlisle and Jonas back.

He is 20 though.

Some of Caleb Daniels passes to the leading forward were Robert Harvey like caress kicks he often did for Plugger. He MUST be in contention for Rookie of the year.

You'd like to think so, but media and the judges have been wetting their pants in excitement over Weitering, so it'll be like pushing the proverbial up hill for our bloke to win it.

But, little Caleb might just might have another medal around his neck a few weeks later. :praying:

Brilliant win, my head is spinning. The Bont will likely get most of the cred in the midfield (and fair enough too), but I thought Libba was just as important at the last and in the 2nd half. Brilliant goal, composed and the clearance king. I thought he was brilliant especially after such terrible and undisciplined 1st qtr and bit.

Daniel's composure was super important and Biggs also really stood up. Back line was so impressive.

So happy after a pretty rough week and year for myself. I'll really be enjoying this one. Love this club!

Forgive the intrusion.

Just wanted to say GREAT WIN. I'm a North fan but watched the whole game and was so impressed by the Dogs. I've been to a few games in Adelaide and the atmosphere there is incredible; the local team being willed to victory by a rabid crowd. For the Dogs to keep their composure and to win was no small feat

So happy for you guys to see your team doing so well. Again, congratulations. Enjoy your win!

Watched the game today dudes, many congrats on what was a ripping win in one of the best games of the year. I've said it before on here and I'll say it again, I have a massive soft spot for the Dogs, and if we don't win the fourplay this year I hope you guys can snag a flag. You just about have the team to do it.

Great to be on the end of the better conversion rate for a
change. Very good win as it was not a dominant game by
the statistics like it has been most of the year. Port will
be tearing their hair out over their conversion particularly
in the second quarter when they kept us in the game.
First team to take out multiple ball carriers which was
very interesting to see, early injury to Dahlhaus added
merit to the victory.

On a personal note great to hear the name Austin called
in the AFL again even if it was not the great man.:'(
