No you did

No you didn't.

It was you and the 10,000 like you.

It was so obvious the fans had stayed away it was depressing. Can't imagine how disappointd the players are walking through the banner and seeing that.

Blame the club for serving up the performances they have for the last 3 weeks and it’s no wonder some people would have decided not to go. The extra numbers being there wouldn’t have stopped us have 70 more (useless) possessions and smash a team in clearances to just turn it over 60 times and roll over yet again to a much more clinical team.

It wasn't Arty Jones who didn't touch the ball.
It wasn't the butcher called Bruce
It wasn't Tim English who was rag-dolled like a rookie

IT WAS OUR PATHETIC SUPPORTERS WHO FAILED TO TURN UP ON A BLOODY FRIDAY NIGHT!!!!

23K. ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL.

Tonight's crowd of 23,110 was the largest-ever crowd between these two clubs at Docklands...

Of all Dog players why is Jones getting bashed? Probably had more tackles than most the side and we need the speed.

Our pressure smalls don’t need huge stats
I hope you're just saying our problems are elsewhere and can't all be pinned on one 19yo small forward in his 11th game. I'd certainly agree with you on that.

Equally I hope you don't literally mean you'd pick a bloke because he can lay 6 tackles a game but not get one disposal in 68% game time. I can't think in what reality that would be acceptable.

I like him and I think he'll make it, but his confidence must be shot. Time for a string of games in the VFL to get back to doing what he does best without quite so much pressure on him. Re-build the confidence with some good games and return later in the season.

Personally i hope the club gives Jack Riewoldt a call and see if he'd be interested looking after the forward line from next year. Anyone who has some basic understanding of how a forward line should function right now is better than what we currently have.
A skeleton lying in a tomb for the last twenty thousand years would be better then we currently have as our forward coach

Our pressure forwards need to do something about teams going coast to coast 8 times like Port did tonight.

They literally have one job!
When a team kicks out from a behind. There is 22 of our players in front of them. The coast to coast thing is a team thing, not a small forward thing. We failed to stop the transition, all 22 players.

Small forward pressure is mainly about the loose ball or live action inside the 50m arc itself. They also cannot do to much when the midfield turn it over kicking directly to a Port player either. Jones had 6 tackles, that is more than all but Vandermeer. Was a good defensive game, just a very poor offensive game.

Our whole team was poor defending, not just our small forwards.

When was the last time an AFL player went an entire games without a touch?

We carry far too many
I believe the last player in a side to not get a touch (and wasn't injured) was round 5 2023, Port Adelaide vs Western Bulldogs, Toby McLean. Although he at least has the excuse that he was never brought onto the field.

How do you think we would have gone tonight if we swapped him and Bruce?

Much the same as Bruce had a mare. Fair chance Allir goes to JUH who then doesn’t impact.

What ifs are hard to take a position on and there are always different views.

Naughton forward is a known quantity 2 goal a game forward across the last 2 and a half years.

As a defender we have a small sample size.

Do you think he would be better as a higher forward than being the deepest forward?

I hope the majority of the players leave their pay cheques behind the last 3 weeks, they don't deserve them. Why the hell did we recruit Lobb? He must be due for his one good game every 8 weeks or so. The board need to move Bevo on and get some fresh faces into coaching roles. We won't improve while they are all still there.

When the coaching panel and culture of this club change, I’ll be back. Not before then. Sick of mediocrity. Absolutely sick to death of it. This coach is the epitome of mediocrity

For those wanting Jones out next week who replaces him?

Hannan? McComb? McNiel? All had chances all aren’t up to it.

Clarke? Not ready from what I’ve seen.

We simply don’t have quality to bring in.

small forward cupboard is completely bare. And i don't want to go back to the bs makeshift small forward line where we just jam mids in there.

Keep him in.

Sure worth a go!

Libba and Bont are absolutely wasted in our setup. They are carrying so many passengers it's unreal.
David King was spot on about Naughton, if he can't get more involved as a forward he needs to go back. If he doesn't like it blame his goal kicking.
Bailey Smith is basically Robbie McComb with a mullet, needs to get so much better.
English is basically hitting the wall after being flogged to death since the first game.

Until we get a new coach and decent assistants, I'm done. We can't defend, we're lazy and we just don't care enough. We have a coach and club that thinks near is good enough and it isn't.

We could be so much better, but we're p****** it down the drain. We need a shake up. Desperately. This current s*** doesn't cut it.
