Just watched the replay.

Bont in the last quarter was terrific. He set himself for a defensive effort and really put himself between the footy and whatever prospect melbourne had of winning it late.

Garcia’s goal wasn’t as impressive on the telly, but the pace he showed running to get to the contest, then balancing to play on and kick the goal was fantastic. All off the back of a risky (ballsy) kick inside, brave attack on a loose ball by Khamis, and clean delivery from McNeil.

Daley Bale saved the game, then put the wheels in motion to win the game. Not a bad 5 minutes.

You can tell the boys love Garcia. He brings a lot of energy and is as tough as they come. He can stay in from here on out.

Good win by the boys. So many players led the way, mostly the usual suspects but great to see some of the pups make really meaningful contributions. Buku came back well after an awful first half. Not sure if he just forgot his role or if our defensive coach is poor but gave Fritch too much space. A special knock for JJ (again) - you are a senior player in this team, any chance of ever playing like it?

Bruce was stuffed around as back up ruck second game from a acl injury. Of course he blew up and couldn't leave the ground or stand. One of the few knocks of the night as that could have easily ended badly.

I presumed that JJ was given a role on Salem who didn't have a lot of influence (not sure - stand to be corrected). Took one for the team much like Williams did a brilliant job on Langdon.

Nearly all on Buku, a few really bad brain fades. But he was much better in the second half

Buka is a see ball attack ball player, suited to half back intercept role. First half played basically full back on fritz, changed the second half.

We have a decent amount of supporters, seems this “church” is more about the “church”, rather than making it a place enjoyable to read.

I don’t mind Jordon Sweet but gosh, our coach isn’t perfect but gosh again.

Giving up on a season lol, tonight was clearly proof in a pudding of how silly that is, let alone saying it over and over and over again.

We can bag GWS, but I look at our topics during the week, then compare the input to other clubs, and gosh again, no wonder our supporters aren’t engaging.

Why is it not holding the ball if you take it out of the ruck but get tackled immediately, irrespective of whether you have prior or not. Shouldn’t that be holding the ball? Just seems odd that it’s not. Gawn or Jackson did it and got immediately nailed and it was t holding the ball.

Got to write that if you look at the players in the side compared to last years GF and most are young, we are only getting better, Garcia, West, Richards, JUH, Gardner, and I know Bruce has been quiet and he will get back to it I have no doubt, but he in the forward line helps out more then his stat's and goals indicate.

I was disappointed in some of Naugtons efforts tonight
There were times he seemed to looking for a free rather than providing a genuine contest.

The minimum is for him to bring the ball down.

Our centre square work needs to be better seemed Dees were well on top in that area at times.

But what a win and JUH gave us a taste of what’s to come. As long as he keeps working he will be ok. Even when he didn’t mark the ball he wasn’t far off and brought it to ground.

Richards carving out a great season.
