Autopsy Dogs defeat Dees 110-100 - Redemption

You can tell the boys love Garcia. He brings a lot of energy and is as tough as they come. He can stay in from here on out.

A poster mentioned it earlier that Garcia and West are giving us Clay Smith and Liam Picken mongrel up forward and that’s exactly what we need.

Great post. These two boys, West and Garcia, have gone past Vandermeer. VDM and McClean who have to get their bodies right and put pressure on Hannan, Hunter, McComb, McNeil the vulnerable potential places in the team? Garcia and West best 22 IMHO.

Amazing Game! Was on the edge of my seat. So great to see Jamarra have a breakout on the biggest stage! Great to see such a good team effort, well done to Garcia, backing himself to kick that 2nd goal!!

Tell you what, the umpires love the Dees. How hard is it to get a holding the ball against Petracca...
Thought the Dee's had the better of the umpiring last night. Rhylee West had his head ripped off and it was holding the ball WTAF!!

I thought Naughton rucking at stoppages within 25-30m of attacking goal ala Tom Hawkins was a really good tactic. What are his chances of taking a clean mark from a clearance as fwd in that congested scenario. He was aggressive and effective in that situation. Shopped early, followed up and pressured well, clean at ground level and snapped a goal too. Hope we persist with that tactic.

Allowed English to float back to a wing or a position where he could mark or impact Melbourne's get out clearing kick if they got one and send it straight back in.

I would seriously consider Martin in against the cats for a number of reasons, not the least of which is it would allow Timmy to take up a position in the back half at CBs where his intercept marking could be utilised and in general play bringing the ball up to the attacking half whilst covering off the oppositions defensive clearing kicks. He has such excellent touch and vision for a big bloke and is a booming kick. Could be very effective in that part of the ground while Bruce, JUH and Naughts put the fear of Dog into opposition defences I50.

A fit Martin at most CBs would allow this and he (Martin) is a real scragger who's going to make the opposition onballers and rucks earn it.

They did. Their frees were more damaging as well, and they benefited from non-calls as well. Funny their forum is complaining that Bont never gets called for HTB- bit rich given how much opportunities Petracca gets to break tackles.

Still think we need the inside 50 entries to be more to our forwards advantage- too many kicks with long hang times, even though Marcus ( i think) said it was a tactic to go inside hard and low.

Good win from you guys but the reality is we were coming off 2 days less break in taxing conditions, Lever was a late out and on top of that Ben Brown the form key forward of the competition right now was missing.
I nearly bought that until you mentioned Brown who has spudded it up all year

English is such a unique player that he can get monstered in the ruck most of the night yet end up having the better of Gawn due to his supremacy around the ground.

Echo the poster who said Naughton rucking in the F50 is a good idea. Eliminates the knee to knee centre bounce risk for injury but gives him a chance to overwhelm the opponent with his athleticism but in the air and when the ball hits the deck. Also allows English to sit back behind the ball and rest without being off the ground.

🤣 Naughton, Curnow, Hawkins, Cameron >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Brown

Why would you come here and pollute our board with p1ss weak excuses

I guess that they're happy with how their team constantly use their hands to push their opponent under the ball then.
May didn't even have eyes for the ball in the last quarter when he blatantly shoved Bruce out of the contest. Commentators stroking themselves just too strong in the contest.
For mine that was a free for not allowing a player to contest the ball. Bruce was taking shape to hold his ground and May just took his eyes off the ball to manhandle Bruce. That wasn't a battle of strength it was a player taking another out of the contest who then happened to take it.

Stopped reading after "but".

Piss off back to your own board.

I think Marra is a genuine float around the forward line as he is very athletic... he knows how to find space and kick easy goals. Not a lot of forwards have this knack

This is what you get on their board from him:

I think this might be closer than some people think but in the end it should be relatively easy win, dogs will have their tail ups after Bevo's outburst and the rule changes, I also think Toby Maclean hasn't been picked due to the rule changes.

Gawn is going to teach English a lesson, I think Fritsch is in for a bag.

Is that the same Ben Brown that had kicked 6 goals in the last 4 weeks and has kicked 10 goals less than Levi Casboult all season?

Thought all of West, Garcia and JUH were great and Weightman tried his guts out.

English was terrific. Makes you wonder what might have been if we’d had 2022 version of English up and running in the third quarter of the GF.

Thought throwing Naughton in the ruck in the forward line paid some dividends. Bruce unfortunately looks a looooong way off though.
Also made me wonder if we had of had Bruce available in the GF to be able to split their defenders. Anyway he wasn't so won't dwell on it.

One extremely important thing to come out of this is the confidence.

Even in the last minute Melbourne "knew" they would win. The Melbourne players and coaches were visibly shocked when JUH's goal sailed through as reality hit them. Sure every team is disappointed when they lose, but Melbourne's players reaction after was more than that. It stung them.

For us, we now have the belief we can take it to them.
