On one hand they have this faux tough guy thing that they constantly try on and on the other they routinely deliver lightweight performances.

Given that they’ve been handed concession after concession after concession they should already have multiple trophies in the cabinet but they really haven’t made any progress as a club in years.

I’m genuinely surprised that they don’t come under more scrutiny but I guess the media cut them plenty of slack because they have brought into this ‘long term project’ idea sold to them by the AFL.

I'm a big fan of Caleb but we play quicker, riskier footy without him. He pinpoints those deft little kicks, but he can take too long to make a decision & then play safe. It seems to rub off on the rest of the team too.

I'm not sure what to do with him. He's a fantastically skilled & brave player, but I honestly think we look better balanced without him.....it's a conundrum.

Whilst not wanting to get too excited after 1 game, maybe Lewis Young gone past Cordy and Trengove as a KPD?
I have never seen Cordy play a better game as a KPD than Young did today.

Suddenly we have 3 highly promising KP players 21 and under who are all over 195cm. Naughton, Schache and Le. Young

To be honest, its not hard to go past zane cordy. We will swap him to carlton for a 4th round pick and he will play a high pressure tall forward role for 5 years.

The only spot for Libba is Hayes but if we/when we make finals and Caleb is fit he plays. Young V Cordy for a spot on todays performance I go Young. I thought our captain was very solid today well done Easton has copped lot of flak on this board this season.

They said last week Caleb is 6-8 weeks away

When you coach a team Charlie there is only one stat that not only matters but what you are judged on, winning.

We were not expected to make the finals after the bye due to our hard part of the draw being in this period. Yet we are now sitting in the 8.

Daniel has played in all 3 losses and only 2 of the wins. We have scored more than we ever have during this time as a team. We have had 4 no goal quarters in the last 2 week's against other finals teams. So yeah Daniel whilst a good player is severely overrated by you and a few others and results bare that out

Like I said, your pretty cluey Lach but your losing street cred running with the win loss ratio.
You’ve been a big anti Daniel campaigner all season so I can understand why your digging you heels in, it just seems like you need to concede at some point. I thought the launch score stat would’ve put it to bed but I guess not lol

Their captain Davis and most experienced Shaw both lost the plot in the last again. A beautiful follow up from the preliminary final when all their leaders celebrated with false bravado and Heath lost it completely. Would like to play them any day up there.

Richards and Hayes are the 2 vulnerable, but both played wing and half-forward, neither of which suit libba at all.

He should work his way back through the VFL.

Yeah, luckily. I’m sick of backing Daniel up and I’m sure others are sick of the back and forth, so if posters want to ignore all the facts of the matter I’ll just have to suck it up, watch the train wreck comments and bite my lip.

I’m with you. Last week it was an hour of trying to bait MD into a fight on a night we kicked 21 straight and now it’s Calebgate! Save it for later in the week. Let’s celebrate a 10 goal win and a previously unimaginable move into the 8.

Today we managed to nail multiple goals from outside 50, whereas earlier this season every one of those was going to be a behind or out-on-the-full. Dunkley's was particularly special, but Suckling and others were also in on the act. Makes such a difference and makes us much less predictable.

That this has been missing for so long I think this has been a big part of our issues in the forward half, allowing other teams to set up in the hot spot without fear of getting hurt on the scoreboard from long range. Well I think opposition analysts who see our game today will have taken notice.

Seriously score launch score stats, versus game style that wins games. Yeah they are so important. You know according to stats and champion data and David Kings analysis we did not win in 2016. Stats in themselves are pretty meaningless unless in full context.

Indeed Thunderoad. I don't know if you watched the Foxtel lead-in to the game but it was all GWS, GWS, GWS. Literally, at the end, it was mentioned that they were up against the Bulldogs.

On the other hand, I'm glad we're flying under the media radar. Makes it easier on the players and more enjoyable when we win.

On a separate note, it's interesting to note that the perennial pessimists on this board, the ones that are always ready to give the club an extra kick in the guts when we're down, go silent or into denial after wins like this. Makes our victories that little bit sweeter.

Stats are everything nowadays Lach, so you either are involved at U10 level or your club is stuck in the 90’s.
If you don’t rate Score Launches as a line barometer for a player in the AFL then you don’t rate clearances, HB receives, pressure acts and goal assists either. Which, for someone who seems pretty switched on, is astounding.

Apologies if you aren’t a Caleb Daniel Out gang member, I must’ve mistaken you for all the others.

I seem to doing people’s heads in so thats my last post on the matter.
