Congrats on the win. You guys were insanely loud! I was there at the Gabba and it felt like a Dogs home game. I bet the support meant a lot to your boys. Also your supporters were very cute and very happy leaving the ground which was just a wholesome thing to witness in this crazy pandemic world. Good luck against Port.

Dude I'm totally over people giving crap to Lewy. He may not have won the ruck contests but he wore out the Big O to help Timmy to rest and help out.

He played to his ceiling which is all you can ask of him. Will never win a game for us but he doesn't have to.

Was there actually any clear awful umpiring calls. English free towards the end was a textbook ruck free, games not as fresh but actually can't remember any calls that went our way where I thought it was a clear horrendous call (obvs going to be a bit bias but trying to be neutral here). Daniel deliberate out of bounds and some of the holding the balls against us and for us were questionable but that's footy. I'd be happy to be proven wrong but I thought the umps were fairly alright

Only ones that were really blatant for me was the missed 50m to Andrew’s when Williams ran straight through his
protected zone and the Bailey Dale non-call for HTB when he dragged it in.

On the flip-side the worst call of the night was the Daniel deliberate, closely followed by the overturned goal when there was exactly zero evidence to prove unequivocally.

McInerney OOB on the full was dodgy, then Dunkley's mark.

Remember how many of us wanted him delisted last season? I think majority of us were guilty of viewing him as a bit of a list clogger, but fu** me I think he's actually best 22 at this point
Bloke's on his seventh consecutive year on the rookie list with countless injuries in that time. A real warrior who deserves every enjoyment.

Coleman stripping VDM was a brutally quick trigger and then we pinged Coleman later for a no call.

The deliberate was a disgrace.

Dunkley tackled Neale perfectly on the wing with minutes left and it was called in the back. I was fuming

That was Libba I think, actually rolled him over beautifully was textbook stuff!

This snowflake is a reporter with Sky News. Stick with the conspiracy theories champ.

I actually remember that game that he is quoting very very well. I was a Fitzroy supporter at the time and have never been as angry at a loss as I was that night. This doesn’t come close to that. Sure a couple of frees went our way and the one to English at the end was probably the one I thought was the most dodgy/weak. But I can think of a tonne going the other way that also weren’t great decisions and the overturn of Bont’s goal was one of the worst decisions by the score reviewer I can ever think of. There was no vision at all that was conclusive that it was touched. He basically made that decision because the Brisbane player was so sure he touched it that the reviewer believed him. The ball didn’t deviate at all. That was absolute bullshit.

To even try to compare this to the game Fitzroy were robbed of against Adelaide is laughable.

My father who is a massive Lions fan even called me afterwards to congratulate me on the Dogs win and said he thought the game was umpired fairly with a few going both ways that probably were a bit iffy but overall the Dogs deserved the win and while the Lions had their chances, the Dogs defence was too strong and in the end we took our chances better than they did. This coming from one of the most one eyed Brisbane supporters you could ever meet. So no this game was not robbed by the umpires. It was a fu*king arm wrestle that we just managed to win. Great game by both teams. No one deserved to lose but to blame the umpires is bullsh*t.

This doggies have spent a large amount of our salary cap on the midfielders.
I don't know what more your can ask a minimum chip's player trying his heart out.
It's up to the midfielders to win the premmie, not Lewy.

No way Timmy halves the contest after half time without Lewy's effort, it was a team effort.
We have set him up to fail a bit. Unfortunately right now he is VFL level, had some moments tonight and some bad moments.

What was the general consensus with the umpiring. Even though we led the free kick count, I thought we were on the receiving end of some horrible calls.
I thought there were the typical number of dubious calls both ways. If anything they went slightly Brisbane's way but hey, I'm a Dogs fan. I'm not impartial.

No utter howlers that I can recall. I thought the Bont goal being disallowed was fair enough.

In the press conference Fagen was asked where they lost it. He laughed at that and said it was a 1-point game. His meaning being that any one of 100 different incidents throughout the game (not just in the last 5 minutes) could have made the difference. Errors, free kicks, rogue bounce of the ball, player slipping at the wrong moment, ARC reviews, injuries, collisions, etc etc.

It was that sort of a game. We managed to come away with the win and it makes up for the heartbreak of leading very late in games and yet losing to both Geelong and Port during the season.

Westward ho. Port would rather be playing the Lions, I'm sure.

Anyone. Anywhere.

It was a game of heart attack moments, but did anyone else nearly stop dead in the millisecond after Caleb’s kick which went straight to Roarke Smith?

When I saw the ball go low and flat - my god.

closely followed by the overturned goal when there was exactly zero evidence to prove unequivocally.

It was based purely on the deviation. Even JJ’s goal you can see the ball deviate last minute but not near to touching the post. I swear the Gardiner one was aerodynamics after the airflow of the ball went past his hand. It was a tiny fingertip at very best and obviously not enough to stop the ball going where it went.

Treloar is picking up an enormous chunk of change and giving virtually nothing, and his best mate isn’t travelling that well either.

They’d want to pick up next week if they even get a game.

Yep very true, Bailey Williams should have been pinged and that Dale one did look like it should have been a free. Don't think the Lions fans should be ranting about being robbed etc etc. Seems like any time Bulldogs win a game especially in the finals the only reason we win is because of umps. Oh and don't forget we got handed a flag from 7th place in 2016
