Some really selfish drivers out there!

I was driving on the M80 freeway this morning and was trying to merge after entering. There was this guy driving a grey Toyota HiLux sped up as I was attempting to merge into the lane to close the gap, only to then cross over into the lane I was in to exit.
A real DH!

All too familiar from these tradie wannabe utes.

Having a great start to the week! Accidentally deleted (shift/del) a folder from my computer this morning.

Tried a previous restore point but didn't work, the searched for a free program that could restore files but you have to read carefully as even though they work, only let you recover 1 or 2 MB or you need to pay for it.

Finally found a program that will restore unlimited and it is free.

Thanks for that.

I have Kaspersky Premium and it hasn't picked anything up as I frequently run the program to check for viruses so hopefully ccleaner have fixed the problem.

I have ccleaner on a desktop computer that has not been connected to the internet for at last 5 years. I was about to relaunch it but will check the details of ccleaner first and uninstall it.

WTF?! It seems like VCE results came out only a few months ago, and yet here we are again. Time needs to slow down a bit or I'll be gone before I know it, not that I'll know it.
... You are young and life is long, and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death...

It had a bit of a reputation a while back and I can remember trying to use it and it really didnt do much more than what windows and the browser does, but it put it in one place. As for this recovery program, evidently it is ok. I just saw the ccleaner reference and it brought back memories.

As i said in the last post, this recovery program appears ok, but people get suspicious because it's free. But as I said in my original post, I used to use programs and then delete them. But the only free programs that I've found to work well are open sourced programs with a healthy amount of people developing the software....

i read about another ticketek meltdown with respect to the gather round. I would have thought that a ticketing system would be designed to deal with a lot of people trying to get tickets at the same time......and yet.....and yet...

People who fawn over capitalism will tell you that in systems where there is a single option, the lack of competition means that everyone gets lazy and inefficient....and yet we have so many things in the marketplace that are only provided by one or two players....the supermarkets are another example.....and gee we have a lot of complaints there too.

Isn't it about time AFL and sports consumers are given another choice than waiting around for ticketek to provide, or not provide, a ticket to a game?

This is football related...

It seems that today Basil Zempilas appeared on national tv to promote the idea that workers need to get back to work. Basil might be remembered as an average footballer for the west perth team and then he became a particularly sickly-sweet media performer post career. He thought he might go into politics and is currently the lord mayor of perth and is the likely WA Liberal party leader within the next few years.

He will be another liberal leader with a media degree. God save us from these people. I thought lawyers were bad enough but people who study media are cooked up in a chatbot lab....

Who knows where it will stop and it may end up in canberra where all australians will be inflicted with this disease. Merry christmas.

Anyone understand art?

I think its symbolic of our universal angst and dread, whereby we are constantly questioning the very nature of our existence on earth.

Or it could just be a banana stuck to the wall with gaffer tape, by someone with no respect for bananas. Poor form.

Bananas rank only fractionally higher than pineapple in my world.

It looks obvious to me. Nobody minds being forced into the public eye when we're young and beautiful.....but as time passes, we shrivel up and start to smell...and then nobody will want to touch us and it will be left to the cleaners to scrap us off the footpath

If he wants people to get back to work in their traditional work places, he should move to Victoria where only 54% of CBD office space is occupied. He is wasting his time pontificating in a state with high CBD office occupancy.

well i dont know the real estate market but apparently he was talking for his corporate constituents... some people just cant get rich enough. But his main purpose is to position himself for a safe liberal seat (hard to find here at the moment) and then a walk into the leaders position. So the spiel about workers getting back to workplaces is just to remind the liberal faithful that he's batting for employers. I think when unemployment goes up, employers will be able to drag people back to the CBDs and have them waste hours of their valuable time commuting. It would be nice if the corporates helped out changing nappies.

Just came home from shopping at Broadmeadows shopping centre (yeah I know safe site:think:)

There were alarms going on everywhere, my friend said sounds like an evacuation going on. We could see some staff putting down shutters on their shops but lots of people ignoring. I asked what was going on to one of the staff and they said everyone had to evacuate.

People didn't care, wouldn't leave the shops (made me laugh) was also raining heavily outside, staff were getting angry.

My friend said think they would prefer to be blown up rather than get wet. Car Park with people leaving was like watching dodging cars.

Anyway was just a drill which is rather fortunate as I think the shopping centre was still half full and a couple of the shops (nails, hairdresser) just kept operating.

Messaging wasn't very good as all you could hear was the alarms and a garble voice, no sign of the security guards either.
