Defence pressure from the Sack & Billy are one of the reasons we are back! Have always seen cracks in the sacks game but credit where credit is due.

Definately one thing that has been super impressive with Elliot this year for sure. Getting better and better at the defensive side of his game. This was one of his weaknesses and is now starting to be a positive!! Great work Elliot. Will go close to 50 goals this year

Never gave up hope and provided much needed pressure around the ball. Definitely deserves a toast.

I've long been a fan of Goldsack.
People seem to forget how good he was in the forward line in 2012, ever reliable. His injury last year slowed up his development, but he's turning it on this year and will only get better.
Hope he keeps his spot, have to fit Reid back in somehow.

Goldy played very well and I think he has definitely deserved his spot after some great performances this year.

His ferocious pressure and attack on the ball is a real positive and these efforts outweigh whatever he may be lacking.

I definitely like him better in our forward line around the 50m arc and prefer him there than seeing him in the backline where he looked somewhat confused at times.

I hope Bucks keeps him in the forward line where he is so much more effective. Wondering who will match up on him vs. Carlton already!

Goldy is now a very important player and this reality has snuck up to all of us. A tackling machine and after watching the replay I'll be giving him votes in the Didaka Memorial Medal thread.

Was anyone else thinking he was going to kill someone out there today? His attack on the ball and player was awesome! And seemed fast too.

Seriously needs more praise does the Sack.

Most of what he does doesn't get put down on the stat sheet, but it's crucial none the less. All hail the SACK!
Yes.
Yes he does.

Hail him I do.

For weeks I have been saying to my partner, Goldy is just building, he is so crucial to the pressure in our game plan. I love him, he will never be a superstar, but in my opinion he adds 1% all over the place and is integral to us playing as a cohesive, pressure team.

Goldsack has forced 28 turnovers in six rounds through his own pressure, with the Pies scoring seven goals 11 behinds from those turnovers.

That sees him leading the competition ahead of renowned Energiser bunnies Luke Dahlhaus, Stewart Crameri, Paul Puopolo, Rory Sloane and Ben McGlynn.

That shit is music to my ears

Makes my post in your defensive forward thread on the main board even sweeter. ;):D:thumbsu:

Bucks has said over the last couple of years that he is a very important player for us, particularly up forward. Given that Bucks seemed to have a plan and has stuck with it gives me even more belief in Buckley as a coach.

I must admit, I thought that goldy would struggle beyond this year- either be discarded, or test FA, but his efforts over the last couple of weeks has been fantastic.happy for him to stick around a little longer with these types of performances. Just wish he was a bit cleaner picking the ball up off the deck.
