The AFL’s objective with North’s priority picks should be: 1. Allow North to have Northern Academy rules with our Tasmanian NGA until 2027 2. Allow WCE the cover to trade down to pick 2 so both teams can take home state players 3. Allow North to give the best offer to GC to get pick 4. Allow North to trade for two decent senior players this year. This will help 3 of the bottom 4 clubs and the Devils.
I know he just resigned, but what would North offer for Jake Riccardi if he wanted to go back to Melbourne.

So we'll more than likely go in with 2,3,14,19 before bids.
Well, it would actually be 2,3,15,20 before bids.

My question is, when do point values get assigned? Does a potential pick 3 player trade comp and hawthorns natural pick 3 have the same trade value, or does the hawks get dropped in value. Do our end of first round picks get assigned a value at the point in time they occur during the draft, or at the pre-trade/draft stage? Do point values get lowered by F/S and northern academy bids?

Question questions.

FYI 2023 p19, 2024 p19, and p37 is in between pick 2 and 3 as a point value raw.

Decades, yes. Recent years not as hot.

What JHF, Mckay and a few players well into their 30’s looking for some success? I remember when Brisbane lost 5 to 6 young talented kids over the space of a 2 years. We have lost JHF and Mckay, who we helped pack his bags for pick 3.

Don’t listen to the above, he had to prove his aboriginal heritage, there’s no way he would’ve done that if he didn’t think prelisting was on the cards.
its the exceptional year that he has had, that made all the other recruiters cry, that changed things. No one would care if we’re even talking about a late first round talent here.

North didn’t even end up asking for him in their assistance package.

There’s no way North took on board the views of other clubs in what they asked for. If that was the case there’s no way they would have asked for pick 3.

Sanders said he wouldn’t be pre-listed, north didn’t want to use picks matching a bid. End result is North not even asking for him to be pre-listed.

North were talking to the AFL in the lead up to their request. If North didn't include Sanders, which we don't really know, then it was likely due to the AFL ruling it out.

I think Jake Riccardi would be a great fit for North’s list as a 23 yo 198cm key forward and that we would offer a fair deal to GWS. Putting aside that he has resigned, maybe he could be part of the Nick Haynes salary dump pick package involving GWS 15 and one of North’s priority picks / 39?

Disappointment is my expectation. I get asking for pick 3 and not getting it. But to turn going from pre lising Sanders, to nothing, from 11 instead of Sanders to 19, it's just continually getting kicked in the balls thinking we will get proper help.

Anyway, have no hopes and expectations and you'll never be disappointed. I half expect them to screw us with the McKay compo and next thing you know they will tell us to give the port pick to Geelong

Genuinely I’m not sure how we all resigned ourselves to getting 19, when Morris’ report was broadly consistently with what Twomey had already said, Twomey specifically mentioned 11, and in any case, if you had to pick who has more credibility on the inside word at AFL House, I’d bank on Twomey every day of the week.

Yeah I’m a bit the same. Expecting us to get completely shafted and then have the media talk it up like it‘s “Way too much for North, they already have pick 2 and 14, how much more could we give them!”
Be great if just even one person in the media could take their personal team’s colours off for one minute and back us in. They are all sheep, controlled by the corruption. flipping hate the AFL.
