" A strong Carlton is good for the competition " - Jame Brayshaws
Exactly! And if the picks are given on the condition they must be traded, we lose all power in any negotiations, if there is someone willing to come to us, it could well end up being the team who trades them for massive overs that ends up being the real beneficiary of our PP!
I know the AFL can pretty much do whatever it likes, but PPs have never been handed out with terms and conditions like this before as far as I know, why should it start now?
If we get a pick or picks, it should be our asset to use however we see best. From what Patch said today and others have said earlier, it does seem plugging some holes in the 25-28ish age bracket is a priority. But it can surely only work if there is an appropriate player or players wanting to come to North and we can negotiate with the ability to walk away if we are getting bent over!
Fair is hard to establish though, is market value when we have to trade fair?It could be done more fairly if we are given future picks. For example.we get pick 11 this year and pick 19 next year. Pick 19 will only be available in 2023 unless traded for a player. That way if a trade deal this year is not fair, we keep our future pick. This hasn’t happened before but the AFL are good at making things up.

Ah, the word fair in your post threw me.We wouldn’t have to trade, we would just take the pick next year.
More quality journalism from Jay with no mention of Cooper Harvey factoring into us ditching our 2nd rounder.
Deadset, I'd prefer Jon Ralph writing pieces than this Collingwood muppet.
Well it isn't the same system Jay, because we've been s**t for 3 years. If it was, we would've received a top 3 PP for the last 3 years!
Also we beat Richmond with some luck on our side. Expected score had us losing by 6 goals!
”Bad old days” eh?.. what about only a few years ago..
Damo: they’re poorly run don’t give them a priority pick. They need to hire better people.LISTEN: Why Nank catches the ump's eye, North's 'get out of jail' card

But Lyon said he saw it differently.
They're just making flimsy excuses now.I knew Buckley living in Sydney was behind our form since mid 2016
