Yeah I’m not on board with that…..hope my club feels the same.
Be interesting on the night, it’ll be how desperate clubs are and who’s there.
The earlier they are swapped out is where Tigers value might be….unless there’s a slider on the night.
The draft is so even that most clubs will have someone they rate really highly slide.

I can see that, however it could also be a pick around 8-12. People forget that we finished outside the top 8 only 2 seasons ago.
Any decent list manager is not going to forecast Geelongs first being outside the 8. Of course it could, but they would base it on your most recent ladder position and the fact you’ve theoretically improved via trades.

Such an even competition. I'd have 3 tiers of value. I'd rank 11 teams the same. Then 6 teams the same. Then Richmond.

forget my delusion, make the case for the trade based on available player.

I am saying the quality of player available at pick 21 is not worthy of a F1.
Only happening if a Top 10-15 player has slid to 21. If that didn't happen, then the players from 20-40 or so are all equal.

Don't get X, take Y. No Y, take Z. Not need to give up F1. If you have a later pick, F2 and later pick is more than fair trade.

I would want Hawks to trade our pick 33 for Dogs or Ports pick 35 or 36 if they can throw in their F3 prior to draft night as we don't have one now. This will make it easier to offer straight up trades for our Blues F1+35/36 for GWS picks & later.

what you are saying is that you have FOMO

Sweet. We'll give you two of those golden 20s picks for your crappy top 5 pick.
ha ha. more so compared to other drafts. Lets put it this way even if draft was completely untouched otherwise you would trade 3 first rounders including pick 1 for Harley and not need the thinking music.

Or put it this way: Tstatas went pick 5 two years ago and wouldn't go top-20 this year. Ditto 2020 pick 3 Will Phillips.

I have it on very good authority that if Tauru is available for Melbourne's first pick, he will be a Demon. They are looking at a possible Mcdonald replacement as this will likely he his last year. They are quietly hoping North trade out of #2 as there is no mail about anyone trading up to take Tauru at this stage.

Now that’s a rumour

This sounds like a rumour that a Melbourne list manager (or fan) would want to start to ensure North use their pick on Tauru rather than trade it to a team that might pick the player they want.

wow, wonder who benefits from that rumour?

But it’s not about comparing that it’s about comparing the players left at pick 21 to the player likely to be available at pick 18 in 2025
Likely to be pick 8-14, surely not 18 in 2025.
Let me repeat the player left at pick 21 is not much different to the player at pick 35. Just like how Tiges fan says the Top 6 is equal and so they don't value 2 overly over their pick 6. The advantage of pick 2 is just the luxury of choice. Same energy for pick 21 vs 35 in 2024.
So if a team has pick 35, the premium they are willing to get to 21 or 27 is a small one, not a F1 premium. Like a Cherry on top, F2 at best.

Clearly Tigers fan do. Your best bet is to Bundle your later picks to 6 and try and get to 2. On Draft night you will be given F2+F3 offers for your pick 23 & 24( will be 28 & 29). F1 will be both together.

I wouldn't factor in 2020's guesswork - or go on outcomes since like you seem to be doing with those two examples, - it's about ratings at the time. There will most likely be some highly rated flops in this draft too - there nearly always is.

I agree with you that it's a really strong draft; however, I also agree that the top few doesn't have the standouts of most years. Lalor has a lot of potential, but doesn't have the runs on the board that you'd expect at pick 1. O'Sullivan the same. Smith has the runs on the board but is small and doesn't look to have the weapons of the blokes that usually go in the top couple.

My source says Melbourne see a very real lack of KPP coming through and Jackson leaving for Freo has left a major hole. They see very similar traits in Tauru.

Very easy for Melbourne to feign interest at 5 whether it's real or not as they probably have genuine interest at 9 and would be doing work on Tauru in either case. Nobody can be sure which pick they're considering using on him.

But any doubt makes North less likely to trade down which could also work in the Dees favour allowing a better midfielder to slide.

Would also increase the compensation required from Richmond to trade up (making it less likely). Roos might eventually accept 6+change from Tigers if they know 100% Tauru will be there at 6, but if there's a chance, they miss their player they'll want something substantial.

Explain? North wont pick Tauru at 2.

It's pure hopium by Richmond journo's.
