Think Bo Allan is Demon bound
Won't saints take a mid here?......Lindsay or Reid surely....think Reid is really under-valued
Aren't Port after a KPF?
No way GWS will take Trainor and Hotton in same draft IMO....surely to big a risk....like one of them here though

I like the tigers picks......good spread

They got the work experience kid to do it. Literally. Author’s still in school.

I don't think you can trade out once a bid happens. So they have to lay their bets early. 27 might get traded for future second plus some points, then increase points by trading down a few other picks and they'll be right. Probably end up with something at the end to either trade or use if they've got the vacancy.
You can

Travaglia seems a bit like Ed Richards in vision I've seen. Every chance to play up the ground after a few years in the system.

Armstrong is an ok prospect, but light years away from what the saints need. They (IMO) need to pick 2 of Travaglia, Lindsay, Allan or Reid.

Not as crazy as it sounds.

Tigers take Jagga at 1
Norf take FOS
Carlton take Sid
Adelaide take Langford
Melbourne take Tauru/Allan

It would likely be that pick 5 from Melbourne that would close the door though.
If Lalor falls to us I'd take him, he's more of a genuine point of difference to us than FOS is and can play fwd.

Asked Chat GPT to predict the top 10 of tonight’s draft

As the 2024 AFL Draft approaches tonight, the top 10 selections are anticipated to be:

1. Richmond Tigers: Expected to select Sam Lalor, a powerful midfielder-forward from the GWV Rebels. Lalor has been likened to Dustin Martin for his strength and goal-scoring ability.

2. North Melbourne Kangaroos: Likely to choose Josh Smillie, a versatile 194cm midfielder from the Eastern Ranges. Smillie has drawn comparisons to Patrick Cripps for his stoppage craft and athleticism.

3. Carlton Blues: Projected to pick Finn O’Sullivan, a well-rounded midfielder from the Oakleigh Chargers. O’Sullivan is noted for his speed, contested play, and kicking ability.

4. Adelaide Crows: Expected to select Sid Draper, a prolific on-baller from South Australia. Draper has impressed with his performances in the SANFL and national championships.

5. Melbourne Demons: Anticipated to choose Jagga Smith, a dynamic midfielder from the Oakleigh Chargers. Smith is known for his clean hands, sidestep, and skills exiting stoppages.

6. Richmond Tigers: With their second pick, Richmond may select Harry Armstrong, a mobile key forward from the Sandringham Dragons. Armstrong has been touted as the best key forward in the pool.

7. St Kilda Saints: Likely to choose Jobe Shanahan, a versatile key position player from Moama. Shanahan has demonstrated strong performances in finals and is known for his exceptional talent and character.

8. St Kilda Saints: With consecutive picks, the Saints may select Matt Whitlock, a 197cm key position player from the Murray Bushrangers. Whitlock has shown incredible ability at both ends of the ground this year.

9. Melbourne Demons: Expected to pick Alixzander Tauru, a high-flying forward from Victoria Country. Tauru is sure to become a fan favourite at the next level.

10. Richmond Tigers: With their third pick in the top 10, Richmond may select Levi Ashcroft, a versatile midfielder-forward from the Sandringham Dragons. Ashcroft is the son of Marcus Ashcroft and brother of Will Ashcroft, bringing strong family ties to the club.

What a steal for Richmond at 10 😂

These projections are based on current analyses and may change as teams finalize their decisions.
Those jokers have no idea!!

Yeah the Carlton one will be easy and at a 3rd round for the lesser of the two twins you can just cop a deficit. People have to remember and this is a very important thing it's a 'deficit in the round the bid occurs next year'. So lets say Carlton have a bid pending at pick 45 ish which is the first pick of r3, they could just incur the deficit in a weaker 2025 draft. I don't like the rule for the record!
And if your the premiers like Brisbane you cant go out any further, as your the last pick in the round?

Brisbane may even be ok going from say pick 16 to 18. Which likely come draft time is 22 to 24.... isnt a huge loss

But surely we are just starting a rebuild, not finishing it. So Hopper and Taranto are irrelevant there. We aren't expected to win many games the next few years.
Yeh fair. Interesting a club not thinking in years 5-6 from start of a rebuild. I guess thats where North are at now

Rebuilds take longer than ever now. More a 8-10 year thing

Probably time to move them on for assets at some point over the next 12-24 months then

Somehow I doubt Carlton are premiers just saying

Who would you choose?

Don't Swans just take best avaialable rather than needs?

Would be happy with any of them if Dattoli or Hannaford are there either one. Berry won’t be there

It is crazy. Richmond could have the first four picks in the draft and still wouldn't pick Smith.

The clubs will start adopting mafia talk to disguise negotiations

Nick Austin: “Oooooh forget about it!! tell our friend from Brisbane that I don’t want that box of cannolis at 5, so that way he can have enough pizzas to cover his family”
OR In a possible North/GWS trade scenario, Look, we'll be bringing chinese in the FUTURE, but only 1 of us will be attending, but if its me I'll be leaving around 15 hundred hours if its my partner she will go at 21 hundred hours as she has got to work the next day, so if your okay with that then give us a buzz otherwise we'll see you then! ;)

Because we'd take Lalor, FOS, Smillie and Tauru.

Agree, Jagga is fine but does look more the solid mid pick. Richmond can get plenty of those next year
