Draft Targets

Ok so the national champs are now done and duster so we can be forgiven for turning one eye to the draft. Who are the guys we should be targeting? Any inside word as to whom we are closely monitoring?
I personally would love to see us trade up to be in the mix for Aish, Sheed or Crouch.

Nathan Freeman. Inside Midfielder with heaps of pace. Sorta like Dangerfield. Knightmare has him as the best midfielder in the draft. Despite the experts having him around the 10-20 mark.

I saw very little of the championships, but these players stood out to me:

Hartung - extremely fast midfielder

Salem - mid/hb

Billings - classy mid/hf

Tsitas - tough mid

Dunstan - mid

Dumont - mid

Will be happy if we land one of them.

Dunstan I liked the look of and will supposedly be around our pick. Also do whatever we can to get our hands on Whitfield.

Not sure on the kids or what will be available at our picks.

Pick 1 - 187cm+ mids with pace and skills that can get his own footy and have a body that can get to 85kg+.

Marcus Bontempelli is the one we must get, unfortunately I think he will end up going in the top 10.

I believe he is the cousin of Nick Dal Santo, 191 cm bottom age player who moves and kicks like Pendlebury (quicker though), very raw still with huge upside but was the clear stand out in the game last Wednesday for me. Last 2 stand outs I have seen at that level have been Stephen Hill and Dustin Martin.

Playing for his school team Marcellin College he had a 50 possesion 10 goal game.

I'd be extremely pleased if he slid all the way to our pick. He is a genuine inside gun but will probably go a lot earlier than our pick.

Well, if the AFL clubs get their way, there won't be a Port Adelaide Magpies next season, just a Power Reserves team. Either way, Aish will be lost to Norwood and playing for an AFL club, I'd love it to be Hawthorn.

I love the pace of young Taylor from the Geelong Falcons.

Ok so I've just seen some clips of Kade Kolodjashnij's and really liked what I saw. The kid can play and seems to have great athleticism.

After pretty much sitting out the first round of the draft over the last few years I'd love to see us have a crack at a mini rebuild come November.
I guess it all depends on what Buddy Boy does but I'd be over the moon to see at least one of Josh Kelly and Kade Kolodjashnij's in a Hawks jumper next season.

NO! Think back to Geelong where the players seemed to just blindly throw the ball on their boots and hope for the best, well that's what we'd be drafting another of.
