OK, ive put together a random team of best performers from NAB cup that could be classed as the round one nab cup hype team :p

Goddard 106
Lockyer 149
Nicoski 82
Houlihan 74
Geary 88
Collier 64
Hill 79

Schoenmakers 40
Broughton 53

Corey 127
Swan 120
Gibbs 117
Simpson 116
Jackson 102
T. Selwood 92

Swift 51
Robinson 58

Hille 79
Wood 71

Sullivan 20
Spencer 44

NG Brown 114
Stokes 114
Fevola 117
Bate 103
Cloke 98
Riewoldt 109
Skipworth 99

Ziebell 54
Hogan 75

With 79k still left in the bank.

Main problem was the backs! Couldnt find anyone that scored good! In fact i think geary with 88 was the 3rd highest score? Also, not many dominant rucks (none cox, simmo, hille didnt pull a big one, as most had limited TOG). Back rookies also had me struggling a little.

Well, by luck of the draw, i picked Lockyer as my captain and netted 2369 points. Pretty solid considering quarters are 2.5 minutes shorter and the backs were rubbish.

Obviously there is possible improvements (especially with 79k in the bank), but i thought id leave it at that.

My side:

Backs: Goddard C.Cornes Shaw McPhee R.Houlihan Raines Hill
(Hurley,Suban)

Mids: Richo Gibbs Judd Ibbotson Grigg Rich
(Ziebell,Robinson)

Rucks: Cox Simmonds
(Vickery,Trengove)

Forwards: Franklin B.Harvey Fevola Lucas Al.Davey Higgins Skipworth
(Sidebottom,T.Walker)

THOUGHTS???
i got $11,900 left

This is what my team is looking like now. Should probably keep this hush-hush, but its a whiles to go till the season proper, so will undoubtedly change.. :p

Backs: Goddard, Cornes, Newman, Adcock, Malceski, Houlihan, Raines, Hill, Petrenko

Mids: Thompson, Selwood, Gibbs, Hasleby, Rich, Ziebell, Davenport, Robinson

Rucks: Cox, Simmonds, Currie, Spencer

Forwards: Deledio, Didak, Giansiracusa, S Johnson, Lucas, Higgins, Walker, Ballantyne, Gumbleton

Stuff all cash left in the bank, but its shaping up. Im happy with the structure - have 12 definite keepers plus Adcock and Malceski. Hoping one of those is 7th back material.
Your forward line is great, thats how I wanted mine to plan out.
I think your midfield is perfectly spaced and your backline looks the goods.

Good team :thumbsu:
I wouldnt suggest to do anything to it.

Your team looks good besides your forward line, which may get too many donuts to be hoest.

Hey Guys just wondering if I can get some feedback on my lineup. I think its pretty good.

Defenders - Goddard, Birchall, Buckley, Houli, Drum, Taylor, Houlihan (Raines, Pearce)
Centres - Selwood, Pendlebury, Gibbs, McLean, Masten, Rich (Davenport, Robinson)
Ruckmen - Cox, McIntosh (Graham, Spencer)
Forwards - Deledio, S.Johnson, J.Riewoldt, Brett Ebert, Lucas, Higgins, Hentschel (Ziebell, Grant)

Not a lot of premium players but I thought I would go a different tactic and pack my team full of potential keepers. Relying on Davenport, Robinson, Ziebell, Grant and maybe Rich to be my initial cashcows and then plan on jumping onto those who show something later on to maximise the value of my trades. According to fanplanner the breakdown of my squad is 6/15/3/9. I also have $3,500 in the bank.

DEFENDERS: J BOWDEN, L HODGE, B WATERS, G URQUHART, J FRAWLEY, A RAINES, B O'BRIEN, S HILL, J POST

MIDFIELDERS: B DELEDIO, C JUDD, B COUSINS, K JACK, A BROWNE, S HIGGINS, M COUGHLAN, A COCKIE

RUCKS: D COX, T SIMMONDS, N NAITANUI, A GRAHAM

FORWARDS: M RICHARDSON, N BROWN, C RIOLI, R GAMBLE, M LeCRAS, S EDWARDS, L JETTA, J ZIEBELL, M BROWN

$39,100 LEFT
A FAIR AMOUNT OF RICHMOND PLAYERS BUT I CANT STAY AWAY FROM THEM
GO TIGERS!!!!!!!! :)

Ok finished my final team which i will not change barring some huge revelation in form i the NAB cup/injuries:

Back: Goddard, C.Cornes, Lockyer, Adcock, Nicoski, Ellis, Raines (Hill, Petrenko)

Mids: Ablett (c), Kerr, Swan, Butler, Masten, Rich (Robinson, Cockie)

Rucks: Cox (vc), Mcintosh (Currie, Spencer)

Forwards: Deledio, Pavlich, Giansiracusa, Lucas, Higgins, Skipworth, Ziebell (Ballantyne, Gumbleton)

Notes: Butler=huge cashcow. Last fit season netted an 83 average, when he was 20, and s only 213k. Need skipworth to stay on the park. Cockie will get upgraded either for LTI to waters or mid-season (with new rule). The most likely rookie list mid to play, and will score very handsomely. Having hill on the bench gives me some covering flexibility just in case raines falls out of favour, and means i won't have to waste trades early.

Any advice or helpful comments will be much appreciated.

Try again.

My team as follows: :)

Backs: C Cornes, Mattner, Pratt, X Ellis, Adcock, H Taylor, Jesse Smith, (Rance, Suban)

Midfielders: Stanton, Power, Judd, Tuck, P Hasleby, D Rich, (Ziebell, Beams)

Rucks: Hille, Ottens (Trengrove, J Tippett)

Forwards: Riewoldt, Deledio, Franklin, R O'keefe, Lucas, Higgins, Gumbleton (Ballantyne, Yarran)

I know the midfield isn't very strong and Tuck is a bit of a risk, but hey it's worth a shot :thumbsu:

Don't know how much money you have left, but it might be worth considering moving Ziebell to the forwards, in place of Yarran and then looking at someone like Hartlett/Robinson/Davenport. Also Trengove isn't a great choice as a backup ruck. Try looking for someone cheaper and more likely to play. This might free up some more cash which means you might be able to upgrade Tuck to someone better.

Ok, I have said this but my team is finished but I have Brennan in the forward line, who really I am not to happy about.
My forward line already consists of 3 premiums, but it also has 2 starting rookies and Higgins, which isnt the best team.
I really want a player like Harvey or Deledio to make my forward line more spaced out, and the only way I can do this is downgrading Hill to Rance (which is a bit of a risk).
My backline is very strong, and the only two players that are a bit of a risk are Raines and Houlihan, so I personally think I will be fine if I downgrade Hill. I do really want him in the side, but i'm defiently considering the downgrade.

So I can have

1) Brennan, Hill, Gram
or
2) Deledio, Rance, Gram

Both of these options only leave me with about 3k.

Another option is downgrading Deledio to Harvey which gives me a better choice in the backlines.

Thoughts?

Hi everyone,

I've been reading for the past couple weeks and have finally began my dreamteam for the year.

One thing I have noticed is alot of teams this year have rookies in the starting line ups, a lot more than in previous years.

Why is this the case?

Without trying to sound bias, I would go the Deledio Rance Gram option. Been burnt by Brennan before and I suspect it could happen again. With Deledio he will be part of a midfield including Foley Cousins Tuck & Richo. Odds are most weeks he will not be the subject to a hard tag and if he is, he can always move to the forward line where he now has the ability to be a dangerous forward. On top of that Deleido had 17 scores above 85 last year including 10 over 100. Hard to go past that sort of consistency.

I also think given Hill weighs about 65kg dripping wet there is every chance he may only get limited games this year and a possibility he could play a couple then sit out a couple and then play again. Rance would probably be 1st-2nd in line (along with Post) to come in if one of Richmond's key backmen get hurt.

Thankyou so much RT :thumbsu:
I was leaning that way. Thanks for all that :thumbsu:

How about:

Backs: Mackie, Gram, Adcock, Raines, O'Hailpin, S. Hill, Broadbent, Z Dawson, A Obst.

Mid: Bartel, Cooney, J Selwood, Gibbs, Cousins, Foley, Slattery, Polkinghorne

Rucks: Ottens, Kruezer, Mumford, J Meeson

Fwd: M Richardson, S Johnson, Akermanis, D Hale, J Riewolt, J Anthony, J Ziebell, S Sidebottom, R Nahas

I'm a bit light on rookie info... any suggestions for improvement?

How about:
Backs: Fisher, Goddard, C.Cornes, Adcock, Houlihan, Raines, Hill (Petrenko, Suban)
Mids: Ablett, Gibbs, Knights, Mackay, Butler, Hartlett (Otten, Rich)
Rucks: Cox, McIntosh (White, Currie)
Forwards: Richardson, Gia, Chapman, Brennan, Lucas, Higgins, Ziebell (Gumbleton, Walker)

Looking for some cash cows in the midfields to upgrade at a later date. Have also gone for some strength in the emergencies ie players that will play and increase value.

With $25,800 up my sleeve, is it worth upgrading Brennan before Round 1?

Thoughts?

Need some help fine tuning my team. Im mainly worried about my backs and rucks benches. Any thoughts on what I should change? Still have 20k in the bank.

Mids: K.Cornes, Gibbs, Bateman, Rosa, Hasleby, Rich, (Dangerfield), (Sidebottom)
Rucks: Simmonds, Leuenberger, (Currie), (Spencer)
Forwards: Deledio, Franklin, Harvey, Giansiracusa, Higgins, Ziebell, Gumbleton, (Ballantyne), (Hogan)

AUTOFILL would be a good start.

Nah just kidding.

Too much cash in the mids. Break it up a little and get some cash into yr back line.

Ohailpin, well i guess it's original. You may be the only 1 with him this year.

Why dont you try something like this.

Brain snap

I dont know just trying to help

Hill was impressive against us though, it's difficult not to pick him...Hopefully by the time he gets rested he will have risen enough in price to trade.

IMO

Red = Keepers
Green = Potential Keepers
Black = Upgrades

It is nice to say players like Gibbs, Tuck and Boak will be keepers but realistically you're only going of the last few rounds of last year in teams that were trying something different given there positions at the time.

Very possible that they may be keepers but you'll cry if you see Tuck and Gibbs continue a run with role. Don't take these guys for granted as being keepers.
