I apologize if this player has already been spoken about, but i am curious about Andy Otten...Will he play much this year?? If so is he a dreamteam/supercoach prospect??

Hard to say. It's almost sacrilegious to suggest his omission, but it's a distinct possibility.

He played very well in the lightning cup round of the MMC, but has been largely invisible since then. With an (almost) blank injury list and an abundance of youngsters looking to force their way into the team, he really hasn't done enough to demand a position in the team. He's been out for 12 months, thanks to his ACL, so he no longer has the benefit of incumbency to fall back on.

Hey few guys been on the radar few questions

Sloane - Pre-season scores of 116 ,71 ,46 -- Any reason his last game was a drop off ? (less game time? some of your stars back?)

Knights - Think his pretty much a lock at that price should avg75/80 ,any reason why not to pick him?

Vince - pretty cheap can you see him avg close to 100 each week?

Otten - not sure what people seeing in him to be a lock , Lower from freo is getting big scores and is alot cheaper. i hear more midfield time

Sorry if this has been asked before. I'm piecing together the last of my S/C puzzle and I'm stuck on a decision between Brodie Smith and Andy Otten.

How much time does everyone see Smith getting this year. The way I see it

Otten + Proven at AFL level, Will be in best 22 if fit, Potential high scorer for not much cash.

- Everyone will have him, durability may be a problem.

Smith + Cheaper than Otten, Potential high scorer, durability should be better, popular pick but not to the same level as Otten.

- Not proven at AFL level, not a walk up start ( must be close though )

Smith might not be named rd1, so might not be a tough decision in the end, and Smith seems more likely to be named a sub if named at all (until he consolidates a spot as a starter or if injuries occur). Otten will play more games. at best, Otten would probably average what he did before the ACL, unless he gets more midfield time. unsure as to whether he will get more midfield time or not. it might be something that they slowly do over the course of the season. i know his last game against the Tigers, he was playing in the backlines.

I'd go with Henderson, on the basis that Knights is known to be injury prone. He will probably score higher when he plays, but how many games will he miss?

Depends if you are going for overall ranking or a league win.

If you are going for overall ranking I would go with Knights since his scoring potential is far higher then Hendo and should make you enough cash early that if he gets injured its a straight swap to a fallen premium. If he doesn't get injured you just hold onto him.

If it's for the league win then Hendo might be a safer option since he isn't as injury prone as Knights.

Mostly across HF and I guess he could spend a little time on the wing. Very much the exact same role he played in 09 in which you know was a friendly DT year for him.

A few posters have asked about Bernie Vince & can't find anyone has responded.

I was big fan of his, did injury hold him back last year.

Seems well priced if he plays to his ability.

BV had 2 things counting against him in 2010. Firstly he spent the entire summer answering that age old question: "who ate all the pies?" - he did. He came into the 2010 season well over his 2009 playing weight and failed to go anywhere near reaching his 2009 playing standards as a result.

He did also get injured about half-way through the season (while he was on a club suspension), but it was almost incidental to the sabotage he'd already inflicted upon himself.

He hasn't had an injury-free pre-season in 2011 either, but he has (supposedly) lost weight and significantly improved his fitness after his shambolic 2010 season.

He is definitely one player who would have significant scope for improving in value over the first few weeks of the competition.

Vince. Lower risk. They'll probably have the same output (~110 avg) at some point, but we know Vince is capable of it now.
