My stats have him as 4 cms taller but 8 kilos lighter ( obviously with just one pre season) If he fills out to regular 6 3 weight could he still play midfield.

I think he could still play midfield.

Has eerily (physical) similarities that Luke Hodge gad at the same age :p

Really? A 6 feet 3 midfielder - that would be a weapon.

If Hepplle was played as a mid I'd think he'd end up being the best one at the club. However, as such a good reader of the play, decision maker, disposer of the ball and that extra bit of height I hope he plays on the HBF for the majority of his career. He really will control footy games from there.

Of course if he is tagged on the HBF he might as well be swung forward or played in the middle.

Just remember peejay this is the guy that got 40 possessions and a few goals to single handedly get an average TAC cup side over the line in a prelim.

It is not crystal balling to suggest that he'll be leading the rising star by a long way so far. We are blessed to have got a bombers loving super star for an absolute steal at 8.

Wish we got that other bomber loving superstar from the season prior to that. Unfortunately you guys got him at 3.

I have him 1cm shorter than Jobe, this was off wiki though so not 100%.

I see no problem, look at Goodes, Pav, Hayes ect.. all fairly tall midfielders, (granted Pav hasn't played there his entire career).

Jobe from memory is actually the same height as Hurley, I guess it comes down to the player and what they are more comfortable with.

What I've seen with Conca is that he is a real goer and can mix it with the big boys in his first year. However, Hepple is all class and was close to getting BOG by most experts on Anzac day. Not bad for a kid in his first year.

No point crystal balling their careers because Hepple could get hit by a tram tonight. Providing there is nothing unfortunate bestowed on either of them Hepple is a class above Conca. That is no slur on Conca as you'll soon find that this is true of most footballers.
It's Heppell mate:)

Also just to correct you on this one peejay. Watson is 190cm and 94kgs. Heppell is 189cm and 81kgs. Which really is the perfect size for the inside/out mid.

he is 5 cm's taller than hodge - thats two inches in my language

That is 5cms better then isn't it. Of course he is still shorter then Judd and Watson. He can move as well, if not better, than Hodge. He reads the play like him as well.

What reminds me of Hodge in Heppell is his disposal. The ball has a very simlar tradjectory in the air and accuracy.

Where the similarities end is Heppell isn't hyper-aggressive. This will probably lead him to being a better footballer as Hodge can take his eye of the ball while getting caught up in some bullcrap.

I can see so much of Dustin Fletcher's influence on the young Bomber it is scary to think how good he could be if he stays across half back like Hodge (arguarbly) has.

Certainly his time to shine this week if he does indeed play onball :thumbsu:

My Crystal ball is hazy. All I can see in it is Richard Tambling.

At least we got something for Tambling and hes still playing regular AFL football. It's not like your track record is perfect, I get a feeling you had pick 2 a few years back.. can't for the life of me remember the bloke you picked but I believe a few blokes behind him ended up All Australians.

What can you see through the haze? can we except some more MB Richmond trolling from you? Funny how much Bombers fans like to accuse us of getting ahead of ourselves, yet we're not even halfway through the season and despite many of you carrying on like you're a premiership chance you are only 2 wins above an apparently ordinary side like us.

It was Gumbleton now best run back to your own board little one.

Excuse me?

Oh my bad, I just thought that by some of your posters saying we carry on that Conca is better than Heppel and that we over rate our midfield etc. Which while I do admit a minority of supporters get ahead of themselves it seems OK to put it across as a view held by the majority of the supporter base, therefore I thought that I could take the same assumption there. Like I said my bad and I am sorry.

Hopefully nlm can take post meaning big Dave myers goes nuts in the midfield, hooker to riewoldt with support from hardingham and heppell. Fletcher on vickery would be ideal. Or if we can somehow manage to get fletch free... Game over!

Think we have purposely gone in with a really strong midfield to expose you guys losing your 2 main clearance winners. Tuck in for Nason is a great move by Dimma.

Also Browne allthough lumbering is a really good tap ruckman. Essendon rucks should be able to expose him around the ground but he will certainly give our midfielders first use of the ball more often than Angus Graham was.

I am hoping Hardwick has finally woken up to the fact Deledio is playing great footy eveyr time he is moved into the middle at the moment and starts him there, although he might want to send him back to help out of defence. Would still prefer a pro active approach and have him in the middle. Who do you guys think will match up on the folllowing Richmond mids:

Cotchin - A must tag for mine
Martin - Personally I would think Stanton is a good option who could try and expose Martin the other way by racking up alot of ball.
Foley - Could get off the leash like he did against Brisbane
Deledio - Another must tag if he plays in the middle
Tuck - Happy he is in for his clearance work

I also expect Bachar Houli to play the game of his life.

Please, if you want to refer to him by his nickname from his time at Windy hill at least spell it right, his nickname is Dimmer because he had a habit of dimming the lights on anyone unfortunate enough to play on him,
Dimma was a bulldogs player...
Don't hold your breath on Houli, we were waiting a long time for the game of his life..

Jim you're a massive chance. Massive. :thumbsu:
We're a massive chance in which regard, bottom 4 or tomorrow night?
Deledio and Grigg spend most of there time in the back half. Notice Richmond are always trying to have their players playing in dual positions to suit their arguments.

So with a couple of injuries your midfield could be

Jackson Tuck Foley Conca, Nahas, Grigg
Ruck: Browne

Where is the depth? Every good midfield has an an elite or very good ruck. Your best ruckman seems to be an average VFL player....

Good midfield. Elite? No Depth? Overated.

Take Jack out of the forward line and Vickery and Miller would get the Number 1 and 2 defenders rather than Jack getting them both.

So with three injuries, Riewoldt, Martin and Cotchin your team would look very average.

Can't believe you tigers are trying to argue that you have depth. You have 10 or so good players then the rest of your list is a comedy act.
Doesn't matter where Deledio & Grigg have spent most of their time, both are more than capable of stepping into the midfield when needed and have done just so in recent weeks.

Speaking of depth interesting that Jimmy isn't exactly as convinced as you are that the Dons have good depth.

I can agree with all fo that.

It's your buddies that you need to convince that Richmond is not a top four side with an elite midfield and amazing depth. Plenty of potential I agree.

If I could use the analogy of fish

This would be richmond.
Get some runs on the board. Right now you have none.
Sorry but who has labelled us a top 4 side? I think you'll find most Richmond supporters see us as a side that is slowly but surely improving.

Tomorrow night I assume.

Hope Grigg plays midfield, makes it easier for our mids :thumbsu:

Quotes?

I agree, but I just don't rate a few of your players

btw, thanks for the sig. I've been trying to make some ridiculous comment that gets on a sig for years. Now I don't have to :thumbsu:
