Very happy with my trade last week.

Was strongly considering Hargrave -> Grimes, but at the last minute went Kennelly -> Scotland. That's a difference of 196 points in just one game.

I'm now wondering why I even considered trading Hargrave out :p

This week I think I will go Duncan -> Montagna (can't see him getting any cheaper that this) and Silvagni -> BAC rookie (I hope one gets named ).

Of course that's very likely to change before Friday.

What's Playfair's job security? Tempted to trade out Gumby for him....but im worried with a Playfair/Jaensch bench combo i'll be prone to donuts later in the season. Is it worth it?

I'll probably just be doing Silvagni -> Duffield.

I wish I could do 4 trades this week.

Maguire > Hargrave
Gray > Sylvia

Both too sideways for ya?
Or just right?

And the downgrade options. Sweeeeet.:thumbsu:

Downgrade targets.

Would assume low job security.

Of those that got a game this week.

Gunston FWD
Heath BAC
N. O'Keefe FWD
Heyne FWD
Stanley RUC

Little more expensive but could be good cover and I'm sure it will be discussed.

Watts FWD

Watts is a nice 8th forward option imo, wouldn't want him starting on the ground.

As for Brown, I don't think you'd want to be trading out JB, when he's so popular and just out of form. You can't keep these guns down for to long.

I've decided to bite the bullet with Niknat. Every week I'm losing 30+ points to those who have Hille or Cox as their 2nd ruckman.

NikNat --> Hille

Also tempted to do a sidewayds trade Betts --> Sylvia

I was actually looking at him at an upgrade target - don't have him yet. But agree - can't believe that people are considering trading him out.
In that case, my bad.
But if I did not have him then I wouldn't be looking to bring him in. He's clearly not right. I just wouldn't be wasting a trade yet on getting rid of him for those like me who have him, unless he becomes an LTI.

my team for round 10 is:

hodge goddard carrazzo gilbert kelly waters maguire
swan bartel montagna barlow cooney trengrove
sandilands naitanui
chapman o'keefe didak goodes higgins betts hitchcock

captain is chapman with emergencies j.hunt, l.jetta and p.dangerfield.

if every player performs to their average i will score 2205. that is solid, though more so expecting 2000-2200.

Thoughts on my team?

If I were you I'd want to upgrade at least Maguire, Trengove, Naitanui, Hitchcock and probably Betts. Pretty solid cover which is good because you can probably burn an extra 1-2 trades than someone with weaker cover knowing you can cover 1-2 week injuries to premiums.

Betts is likely to be stung by the Hawks game and bounce back well. Injury to Yarran means less competition in the small forward role as well.

I'm thinking of trading Betts out because while I dont expect him to score badly every week, I don't think he can average much more than 80 in that small forward role. As such, he's probably at his peak for this week which means I'm going to trade him out. I have a few options

1) Betts -> Goodes with no money left
2) Betts -> Watts and Martin -> Montagna and 20K left

I'm leaning towards option 2 not because of the money but because it will leave me with Gumby and Watts as my bench options for the remainder of the year, once I upgrade Rockliff to Goodes in 2 weeks using Howlett as a cow. I'm going to be bringing in a 77K mid/forward rookie as well as a young mid who looks like getting some games to be my mid bench cover, so that gives me a few different ways to deal with any 1-2 week injuries in the mids and forwards. Once my team is upgraded I'm only going to be left with about 5 trades for LTI's but the thing is, if theres 6 rounds to go and a player does a hammy and will miss 4, that becomes an LTI, whereas for example Broughton being out not for 4-6 isnt being classified as an LTI by a few people. I think this kind of flexibility and bench cover is important and will benefit me in the last 4-5 weeks of the season when people are out of trades and copping donuts everywhere. Any other thoughts?

Looking to upgrade scully this week. With a BE of around 104 i think ive milked all the cash im possibly going to be able to milk out of him. Got 156k in the bank so wont need to downgrade it to do it. Players on the radar are:

Hayes
Judd
Montagna
Gibbs
Boyd
Dal Santo.

IM leaning toward Hayes. They way he is scoring atm i think he is to hard to resist. Wither that or ill save around 30k and go for montagna. He is more durable as well which is good. I dont like Gibbs roll atm. Boyd is tempting, he appears to have recovered and back to scoring well. Dal is good but seems to be a bit hot and cold. while he can score 110+ he can also just as easily score 65. Ill probably end up with montagna or hayes, have to read a bit into it during the week n see what happens.

This is killing me I cant decide between Judd or Montagna......Judd is averaging 114! But I know that one can be thrown simply because of the last name "Judd" and want him in your team however his scores cant be ignored. On the contrary Montagna has come down alot in price and is a proven dream team winner..........thoughts?
I would be keen on Hayes but his age is the only thing holding me back.....injuries

I it is just out of those two i would probably be leaning toward Montagna. He is more durable, a dream team gun as you said and is less likley to cop the number one tag every single week. Either way here tho i dont think you can really go wrong.

Hayes is a gun, albeit a very underrated one, he is worth the risk for injury because I think you'll find he's been pretty durable - played 19, 21 and 19 games in 07, 08 and 09.

If its just out of those two? Who else who you be considering?

Well its hard to say coz i dont know what your mid field looks like. Theres nothing wrong with those two, they are the two im looking at this week as well. Will most likely run with montagna. There are plenty of other DT guns who provide value this week tho:

Boyd
Gibbs
Dal
Selwood
Mitchell

Just to name a few.. Nothing against those two at all tbh i think they are probably the best two of the lot but there are others that might be worth a look as well before clicking the trade button:)

My midfeild is - Ablett, Bartel, Simpson, Swan, Barlow and Mackenzie......obviously would like to up grade Mackenzie.

I really think Judds having a great year but will prob go with Montagna...considering how much he has come down in price

Montagna 11 disposals in a dry sunny 1st quarter.

Finished the game with 20.

He's a gun. Wish I was getting him this cheap.

Boyd, Gibbs, Pendles and Dal Santo are all super cheap too.

I'll be looking at getting RoK. He's due for a big game any week now and his price looks about at low as it will ever get.

What would you guys do to my team?

Backs: Hodgy, Goddard, Carrats, Enright, Waite, Kennely, Maguire -(silvagni + Webberly)

Mids: Ablett, Bartel, Swan, Simpson, Barlow, Mackenzie ( Martin, JKT)

Forwards: Chapman, Gia, ROK, Higgins, Brown, Pods, Balla ( Gumby + Rocky)

11 trades left: 14K in bank.

I was thinking maybe as my last upgrades.....kennely to Cambell Heath then Mackenzie to Montagna. Next week Rocky to rookie and Balla to Pav leaving me with 7 trades for injuries and cover for every position on the feild. Does leave my backs a little crap tho with two rookies playing

Please anyones suggestions here appreciated! :)
