I was gunna go Martin>NDS & Betts>Goodes but now I'm gunna go Martin>Goodes & Betts>Sylvia so I can actually use DP. Then if I go ahead getting Goodes instead of NDS in the mids I'll be able to get Pav in next week

Probably o'keefe at the moment.

I need a little advice on this.

Option a) Gumby-playfair and ballantyne-goodes

Option b) Gumby-watts and ballantyne-sylvia

Option c) Guumby-watts and ballantyne-goodes (and PRAY that ablett drops below 505k and martin increases by 10k over the next two weeks)

Need help with this ASAP. Any help given would be greatly appreciated.

Playfair doesn't have good JS, so if you want a rookie that plays most games ike Gumby you'd be looking at Watts or Wonna.

I like option 2, it's safe. However, option 3 is enticing because Goodes usually explodes in the 2nd half of the season.

According to FFgenie, if Ablett scores his average of 128 for the next two rounds his price will drop to $501,500. He'd have to pull at least a 150 and say a 130 in the next two weeks to be above $505k. However, it's unlikely Martin will increase anymore than around $5k.

I'd be taking a punt on option 3, but that's just me.

Will Adam Goodes be at least a top 7th scoring forward this year? I know his role has changed a bit to the front but he should score close to 95-100 ppg right?

Well for me this has been the hardest trade week I have in the time I have been playing.

Backs have Broughton and Kennelly siting on bench, thats ok their prices are going no where, bring on Maguire and last weeks new boy Webs. Don't trade Broughton as he is a keeper even if have to wait 4-6 weeks. Kennelly must go sooner or later, but to do it this week, yeah maybe I should. Decided not to.

Mids in a bit of trouble with Scully rested and KJT no where to be sighted (worse trade for the year that KJT tosser) and then theres Mr McNeil waiting to be used.. And this is the week me thinks, to swing into action Mr elcheapo DP.
Fling him to the forwards and dump Harvey into the mids. No problem.

Take a look at the forwards, pfftt no bench starting with Medders and McNeil and being forced to start Gumby, nope not going there.

Anyway what to do, can see Ablett/Chappy both dropping in price over the next week or 2, decided I WANT ONE OR BOTH. Ok need some cash for the next 2 weeks, hmmm thinks and chews it over for 2 bluddy hours. Only satisfactory options are Armstrong/Watts. But which one, can't have both because it's time to upgrade someone. Was pretty much a coin toss at this stage, pfft go the cheapest. Righto get Armstrong, yeah but who to get rid of, Scully or that tosser KJT, hmmm bugga it need the cash, bang bang click Scully>Armstrong.

Righto obvious upgrade should have been Kennelly>Goddard/Scotland or similar, bugga it I thought, only need 1 more keeper in my backs, will worry about it in a week or 3. Current back keepers Hodge/Mackie/Enright/Shaw/Gilbert/Broughton. Solid cover Maguire/Webs

Ok back to glancing at the forwards, not looking too flash now that Harvey is siting in the Mids. Yuk still starting Balla/Grant/Gumby with Medders/Mr DP on bench, hmm this is not good me thinks, what a load of trash, and one of them needs tossing out. Obvious one is Gumby, starts looking at the options, god they are worse than the trash I have, oh no there's Mr Goodes who repeatedly frustrated me in 2007/2008 swore I would not touch that prk again. Looks a bit further, Buddy um er your an overrated tosser, SJ hmmm nope headcase, Higgins nope a bit wobbly at times, Cloke hahahah nope, JB hmmm nah he will come down further and straight swap for Medders soon enough. Well bugga me dead the only tiny bit of interest is Mr Goodes, (already have Pav Okeefe Pods Didak Harvey (serving duty in the mids). By this time I have had enough, upgrade Kennelly, upgrade Ball, upgrade KJT, upgrade Medders, upgrade Balla, upgrade Gumby, god I don't know. Maybe just grab Watts and be done with.
Then me thinks that having 450k siting in the bank is a waste of points. Well bugga me dead, it's 7pm, what i we have a brownout, god damn it.
Takes big breath of stale smoke, points clicks, closes 1 eye.

Gumby> Mr Goodes

ugh hope I don't regret this one.

and furthermore I hope I bored you all to death :p

Did something rather interesting, but decided, WHAT THE HELL!

Silvagni ---> Heath (risky but only downgrade target in the backs)
Martin ----> Goodes (Finishing off my mids and providing me with DP which should help towards the pointy end of the season).

Decided to keep Kennelly on the bench and play Webberly instead.

My Mids, Rucks and Forwards are now complete, all that is left is my backline :thumbsu::D.

I went:

Trengove --> Armstrong (he doesn't have great JS, but I don't really need it, and he's about to go up 50k)

Mayne --> ROK (down the last 3 weeks, but still averaging 95 and comes cheap, needed to strengthen my forwards)

Thanks for the story bones25.

Forward premiums are all risky this year. I hope Goodes goes ok for you. Div 6 needs all the boosting it can get.

I did Kennelly > Goddard

I funded the trade with Medhurst > NoK

Seems like anybody can break into the Roos 22 so I think it was worth the risk. I think I can still get Dennis-Lane later if he's a gun.

Next week I can upgrade to RoK at a reasonable discount.

None of the forwards are standing out this year, and when you already have the 4-5 main ones where do you go? Chappy will be the obvious next choice, but hell you need some decent bench backup first. I noticed TDL maybe an option in a few weeks, that swayed me away from Watts a little.

Not sure that being patient is gunna pay off this year, had 13 trades coming into this week. Trying to max out the rookies as much as possible to bring in the super premiums, none of this middle of the road rubbish :)

Nice to see Boyd have an average game... so I can hold off getting him for another week and giving Howlett time to mature.

Hmm, might regret starting Howlett ahead of Martin tho...
and lol look what happens when we dont let the Dogs have possession and pressure them, no cheap kicks/marks to boost the scores!
Happy with the win tho, will happily take Gia, Gilbee, Hargrave's crap scores...:D

Ending up going Gumbleton > Watts & Silvagni > Duffield

Wanted to get Gilbert but didn't want to risk downgrading to anyone else, there JS seemed to weak. So had to settle with Duffield.

I need some help...
I have Silvagni, Hams and Roberton as my 7th defender and reserves at the moment. This is my last upgrade.
With only $500 in the kitty, I don't have much to play with. My other reserves that have made cash are Hitchcock, Warnock, Stevenson and Shuey. As I now have Dylan McNeil at 9th forward and already have Rob Murphy out, keeping Hitchcock is crucial!

Do I just cop the zero in the meantime and hope for Shuey and Stevenson to make some cash and hope that Silvagni or Roberton returns next week?

What did you end up doing swans4eva? Not sure how long Hitchcock will be out if at all so you could possibly use the cash from his trade. It's hard to say without seeing your team.

Someone who's gone under the radar a bit is Darren Milburn. A very decent average of 94 (107 over the last 3 rounds), will be priced around 400k this week which is probably top dollar but plays for the cats who are flying and more importantly (imo) has only been selected 1.84% of the comp, so if you're looking for a unique choice he could be your man. Thoughts?

I brought in Goodes last week and I could only afford that if I downgraded Rockliff to McNeil...

My team at the moment

B: Goddard, Hodge, Enright, Mackie, Fisher, Harbrow, Silvagni
Res: Hams, Roberton
C: Swan, Bartel, Watson, Selwood, Goodes, Barlow
Res: Shuey, Stevenson
R: Sandi, Clark
Res: Warnock, McCauley
F: Chapman, O'Keefe, Brown, Gia, Sylvia, Pods, Murphy (inj)
Res: Hitchcock, McNeil

So as you can see, I copped a zero this week for Silvagni and a 20 because Murphy is injured. Have hit a bit of a brick wall as none of my cash cows are accumulating money. If Hitchcock is out for a long time, I may consider downgrading him to Austin Wona and then downgrading Ham to Heath (if named) Then with the 125k left, the week after I'll upgrade Silvagni to a 360k player. That in my opinion seems wayyyy over the top. To use 3 trades on a fully used cash cow to get a mid-premium. Would very much appreciate ideas!

decided to bring in Didak for Ziebel this week, the lack of decent forward options made me reluctant to trade out ziebel for all these weeks.

forward line now reads
Pavlich, Okeefe, Higgins, Didak, Sylvia, Pods, Brown
missed the chapman train, and hoping he does need rest come DT finals.

midfield will be complete next week and will read
Ablett, Swan, Montagna, Bartel, Selwood, Barlow
with only Waters left to upgrade in the backline leaving me with 6 trades left.
Happy with how the squads coming along, with adequate cover on all lines

My team is pretty much complete. Unfortunately I only have 7 trades left with very little money in the bank. That's what happens when you get injuries to premiums and cash-cows who haven't played for a while due to injury as well.

My backline is where work needs to be done. Currently I have Enright, Shaw, Goddard, Hodge, S.Fisher, Waters, Webberly/Silvagni/Hams.

Due to my trade situation, I will likely keep Waters for the rest of the year and just downgrade one of Silvagni/Webberly and just upgrade the other.

My mid cash-cows are both unfortunately injured and not gaining money (Stevenson, Shuey), and my forwards include one that I hoped I would keep for cover and one that has yet to play (TDL, Rockliff).

Anyone have any advice?

My team as it stands:

Backs; Enright, Shaw, Goddard, Hodge, S.Fisher, Waters, Webberly (Silvagni, Hams)
Mids; Gablett, Swan, Monty, Bartel, J.Selwood, Barlow (Stevenson, Shuey)
Rucks; Cox, Sandilands (does it really matter who I have on the pine?)
Forwards; Pav, J.Brown, Higgins, ROK, Didak, Gia, Pods (Rockliff, TDL)

I'm in a very, very similar position! Look at my team above... I have to upgrade my 7th defender but I don't have many cash cows performing. I may be forced to downgrade Hitchcock and then hope Silvagni, Roberton or Hams returns soon and eventually upgrade one of them. If only Stevenson had played these last two matches it could have been an easy downgrade to Gysberts in a week's time and that would have funded my 7th back.

8 trades left with 167600 in the bank. Might be going Kennelly to Heath for a bit more cash this week. I really want to bring in Ablett but my midfield is Swan, Bartel, Montagna, Ball, Pendlebury, Barlow. Ball is the one I'm looking to trade out, but he's averaged 105 in the past 5 rounds. Can't be unhappy with that.

Might do Kennelly to Fisher and Maguire to Heath.

Well, let me know what you do then. Cause the position I'm (we're) in is not that good.

Basically it's downgrade Silvagni/Webberly and upgrade the other.
Downgrade Rockliff which would suck especially with TDL not getting a game.
Trade one of Shuey/Stevenson for Gysberts anyway and cut your loses to make cash.

None of those are really options I would have wanted to take. :(

I think I'm going to wait... if Hitchcock is out for a while then I will need to downgrade him with Rob Murphy out for me. I'm going to hope one of Roberton or Silvagni come in next week and also hope that one of Shuey or Stevenson come in too. I think we need to just be patient rather than use heaps of trades and only have a "half-done" keeper for our 7th back.

The only other player I was considering is Kepler Bradley. If he has another 85+ game today, then he is too hard too ignore. 86 and 87 in the last two weeks and he should be around 300-310k at the end of this week making him an ideal price for a 7th back. A Hams to Heath and Silvagni to Bradley trade, could suffice.
