I am thinking Maguire to Shaw in a week or 2 time
someone please talk me out of it !!
if i do it i know i am strapping myself in for a ride on the rollercoaster.
Potenetial for 100 + games for Shaw is what attracts me

I think it depends on the rest of your backline mate. If you have a strong backline then theres probably nothing wrong with having a punt on shaw. However if you have a backline full of medium ranked defenders then i would probably be downgrading someone and pushing for a Carrazzo,Gilbert,Scotland type imo

+1 agree with this!
If it was earlier in the year i would say milk as much cash out of howlett as possible to fund other upgrades however because they are your last upgrades before your team is complete i think it is justifiable to bring in your last few guns as soon as possible in order to start benefiting from their scoring.

Exactly.

I can wait a week on Howlett but that means I don't have the money to go Maguire -> Gilbert and that means I can't do Ziebell -> Goodes the week after that.

Averages

Lose week 1
Maguire = 74 Vs Gilbert = 100 = -26

Lose week 2
Ziebell = 69 Vs Goodes = 91 = -22

If I do these trades a week later to gain Howletts extra 20K - which I don't need anyway as my team is complete, I lose 48 points from my end of year score.

Ziebell to Sylvia? I think Zebs is ready to be traded, and I can bring in Sylvia straight away. Completes my forward line, then I was considering maybe grabbing Heath for Davis? He's looked to have peaked.

I think your making the right decision. But for me my last upgrade is in the midfield and with Lucas injured, i need to milk Howlett for all he is worth. Also helps that there is always a plethora of fallen guns in the midfield so time isn't a factor.

Looks good to me:thumbsu: Personally not a fan of Sylvia due to his durability issues and the fact melbourne are a young team and are gonna cop some beltings at stages like on the weekend which could effect his scoring. Nothing wrong with the trade tho! If you think Sylvia is a good pick go for it........In 4 days after teams have come out:p;)

True that. I already have the best players in the comp. The only admission is Chapman but I won't be seeking him out now. He would have been a great pick at the start of the season but he will surely be rested on the run home(Or go twang - at least those with out him are praying)

If I was chasing Chapman for the my last fwd position then I would hold Howlett. But as I have enough money for everybody I want I can pull some triggers.

How you travelling this year in terms of ranking Butane?

1'500. To far away to make any meaningful comeback. I've had a good run with injuries this year so that's allowed me to get my complete team together with little fuss. Starting squad really let me down this year. Live and learn...every year.

Want Sam Gilbert. Do I trade Alex Silvagni, Colin Garland or wait for the teams to be named?
Backline of Goddard, Enright, Maguire, Hunt, Nason, Garland, Phil Davis, Silvagni and Campbell Heath (just traded Kennelly for him to get the extra cash).

im also looking into getting fisher darcy :) - with saint kildas run home i think fisher is the better choice of the 2

what u think of these trades...

Maguire > Fisher
Zeibell > Sylvia

i do dangerfield as 7th forward but theres no good options at 340k - and by doing the 2 trades i have danger and maybe waters to upgrade :)

thx for help!

Hey guys.

Looking at finalising my team over the next few of weeks and have a few decisions to make that I would appreciate your advice on.

Is it worth trading out gumby to say Brown (or someone similar) when you have Fyfe scoring so well? My forwards are Chappy, Pav, Thomas, Gia, O'keefe, Didak, Fyfe (Gumby, Rockcliff).

Or, Would it be better to sure up my backs. Currently have Hodge, Enright, Duffield, Malceski, Waters, Harborw, Shaw. Would love to to a Shaw to Goddard/Carrots cos he annoys the hell out of me.

I guess what I am asking is that what trade would give me the best reward and can Fyfe IYO keep up these scores?

My rucks are fine and another trade will be used to upgrade Mckenzie in my mids Leaving me with Swan, Bartel, Staton, Barlow, Boyd, Mckenzie > whoever I want (Howlett, Shuey).

Both of these guys have the potential to go big or flop on any given week. Fisher can sometimes be used as mroe of a shutdown defender so he won't get as many cheap possessions. Sylvia is also probably the most damaging Demon mid/forward so opposition teams will look to shut him down. He's been very up and down this year (a few tonnes and a few 40s). However if you think he's the right option then go for it.

I've got a pretty interesting dilemma to sort through. Currently my forward line is Pav, Rok, Gia, Daisy, Stevie J, Pods and Rockliff, giving me forwards 2-6 in total points ranking and Pods who is averaging mid 90's. Obviously looking to upgrade Rockliff. The question is do I go for Chapman knowing theres a chance he'l miss a big chunk of games or go for someone like Goodes or Higgins and miss out on about 30ppg as they're avergaing about 90 compared to Chappy's 120. If I get Champman then I'll have to get Strijk as a back bench and a 94 500 guy in the mids, whereas if I choose to go for Goodes, Higgins or Dids then I can pick up a back like Campbell Heath and Gysberts in the mids, both as cover. Also, picking up a cheaper forward gives me the potential to upgrade Waters to Gilbert/Carazzo.

So basically if I choose Chappy then I'll be taking a bit mroe of a risk, whereas a Goodes or Higgins option gives me a much mroe balanced side and better protection from potential donuts. As someone without either of Ablett or Chappy, the Chappy option looks tempting...

Yeah but if a LTI comes your way your player will drop in price the week the injury happens (most likely) that extra 20k you have may help you keep a like player instead of settling for somebody else you could get with extra 20k. That could cost you 48 points easily depending on how many weeks you settle for the slightly cheaper player.

always wait for the teams to come out, preferably the "final" squads on friday

Cheers. The late change sometimes stuff me up though, Renouf against North and Barlow on the weekend are 2 good examples of that in my team this year.
This week: In - Gilbert, Out - Silvagni/Garland
Next week: In - Gysberts, Out - Morabito

You had Renouf in your team?

Garland too? :eek::eek:

In all seriousness though, Gysberts is the midfield rookie I am eyeing off the most. How is his job security for the rest of the year? Always rated him and though that going at number 11 was a steal for the Dees.

I have Rob Murphy, Rob Gray, Brennan (DP) all sitting on the bench, really need to trade one to bring in maybe Goodes, ROK or Pavlich. Hitchcock is injured too, so he will need to go. Who do you think I should get rid of? Sat on Brennan for a while now so I may as well keep him.

hitchcock to hughes. leaves me with about 100 k in the bank.

my forwards are:

didak JB JS higgins buddy rioli tippett | gumby hitchcock or hughes.

which one should i upgrade?? im thinking gumby to Sylvia then swap Sylvia. with davis in my mids put davis on the bench for Emg great cover il have then with hughes also. should i wait a week and get ROk or is Sylvia. better option ?

I'll admit I underspent in the ruck division. It was either Renouf or Warnock as my 2nd ruck. Renouf is now 3rd in line behind Sandilands and Kreuzer.
Garland was a cheapie defender who I thought would increase greatly in value.
Jizz should hold his place in the team based on the previous game. Been in Casey's best nearly every week beforehand. I've only got 1 trade left for the round, getting more points in defence is more of a priority and I've still got 2 weeks before Jizz's price rises.

Probaley just the 1 trade this week. Which will be LeCras to Pavlich. Then before Round 12 or 13 (depending on prices of certain players), I'll downgrade Howlett to McNeil and upgrade Hitchcock to a star (probaley around 390K) then my team will look like this with 5 trades left and with the use of DP I might save a trade or 2 with injuries

B: Goddard, Hodge, Carrazzo, Enright, Waters, Shaw, Maguire (75 Average from him is good enough for me, might be upgraded come finals though)
(Webberley, Hams)
C: Montagna, Bartel, Selwood, Goodes, Ball, Barlow
(Shuey, McNeil)
R: Sandi, Cox
(Warnock, Lobbe)
F: Gia, ROK, Didak, Pav, Sylvia, Brown, 390K
(Rockliff, Gumby)

Schmidt has peaked, his BE is now higher than his avg.

The only viable downgrade option is Campbell Heath... what's his JS like?

Sandilands has a high BE and his last 2 weeks have been average. If Trengove keeps scoring 70s and Sandi 80s-90s I will be able to just downgrade Armstrong (due to go up $50k this week if he scores his avg.) and afford the Trengove to Sandi trade.
