Hmmm Hams won't play as he is on the rookie list and Shuey has got glandular...
Has anyone got an opinion on a rookie defender at 94k? I want to downgrade Davis to free up some cash but there seems to be no downgrade option...

thrown my trade plans out the window
was planning on Rockliff -> NOK, (then, Trengove -> 77k ruck Banner -> Ablett the following week)
now i'm looking at either Jaensch or Wonaeamirri (as long as they play)
Hows Relton going in the VFL anyway. Apartently he was eating a Big Mac a Half Time in a game. Glad I went Hitchcock over him
Current Team
Goddard, Hodge, Carazzo, Enright, Shaw, Malceski, Waters (JWebb, Hams)
Ablett, Stanton, Hayes, Bartel, Barlow, Cunnington (Ladson, Shuey)
Sandilands, Cox (Warnock, 77k)
Palvich, Gia, ROK, Brown, Pods, Franklin, Goodes (Hitchcock, Hughes)
Will cop a zero with Hughes, Franklin and Hitch all out. However im looking to pull off an interesting move.
Cunnington > Syliva
Hitchcock > Mcneil
Means i can save the zero and get Sylvia at his cheapest. Also means i have DP covered all ways. B/C combo and F/C combo.
Although i can get NDS, Gibbs or M.Murphy who i suspect are 105avgs. Assuming Cunington avgs 60 for rest of the year than that means 45 x 12 rounds = 540 poins but (No money left in bank). Or get Sylvia who i assume a 90 avg is 30 points better than Cunningtons assumed avg of 60 which means 11x30 = 330 points + his score this week to save the zero which is assumed at 90. So thats 420 points + 100k leftover.
So im weighing up
Great cover + 100k VS 120 points
My bench is quite weak besides my backline. Jwebb and Hams look like they will play plenty more games so i need to use DP to cover for Shuey (we all have him), Hughes (bad mistake) and Mcneil (use for DP). Hoping that Ladson plays this week and holds his spot which is certainly some chance.
Will mean i have 3 good covers for my backs, 3 good covers for my mids and 1 good cover for forwards. Could also consider Rohan he looks okay but he could get dropped anytime still. I dont think he is worth the extra 105k over Mcneil.
Thoughts on this if you can make sense of it.
Fisher or Duffied?
Seriously struggling with this decision...

I need to generate a bit of cash in order to upgrade Kennelly to a premium, so I just want to see what people think is the best option:
A) This week: Gumbleton to Nathan O'Keefe, Kennelly to premium defender. I would then have Rockliff and NOK as forward reserves.
B) Next week: Martin to Gysberts, Kennelly to premium defender. I would then have Gysberts and Shuey as midfield reserves. I would have Gumbleton and Rockliff as forward reserves.
Another option is to downgrade Gumbleton this week & Martin next week, upgrade Kennelly next week and have 8 trades and a fair bit of cash to play with, with 1 more defender to upgrade.
Another option arises if people think Martin is appropriate cover to keep for the entire season. I could trade Shuey to Gysberts next week - would only give me an extra 60k so probably is not worth it. However is a bench of Gysberts and Shuey good enough to see me out for the remainder of the season? Shuey is best 22 for the Eagles but was injured and now has glandular fever, and we all know how impressive Gysberts was but can he keep it up?
The last option is, of course, to conserve trades and ride it out as I am not copping any 0s but Kennelly does need to be upgraded at some stage and now seems a good time before he gets back and drops a fair bit more in price. With 11 trades left I feel I can use a few more over the next few weeks anyway, looking at my team.
Note: Keeping Kennelly this week will not cost me a 0 as my 7th, 8th and 9th defenders are Webberley, Davis and Hams - so I would just play Webberley and Davis as I did this week, but I will have no playing bench cover.
If it makes it easier to give advice, here is my team as it currently stands:
Goddard, Hodge, Enright, Mackie, Kennelly, Waters, Davis (Webberley, Hams)
Swan, Montagna, Bartel, Gibbs, Selwood, Barlow (Martin, Shuey)
Sandilands, Hille (Warnock, Roughead)
Chapman, Pavlich, O'Keefe, Brown, Harvey, Franklin, Podsiadly (Gumbleton, Rockliff)
11 trades remaining, 23k spare
Would appreciate some thoughts......
Amazing what can happen in the space of a day.
Thanks to those that responded but I'd appreciate some more thoughts now that teams have come out.
I was going to most probably do option A but with NOK dropped by the Roos it complicates the issue a little. I could still trade to NOK who one would think will be back at some stage and should get a few more games here or there.
The other option is to continue with that trade plan but go for Dan Stewart who is on the bubble for Port and should play a couple more games and will generate some cash and provide OK backup.
The third option is to downgrade to a 77k rookie to maximise cash gained. I could do that with Gumbleton this week or wait a few more weeks and wait till Rockliff peaks and then pull the trigger.
The Martin to Gysberts trade is still an option but that will only be done before next week's lockout.
Thoughts?
Eyy mate im kinda in a similar position. Was gonna go hall to NOK this week and shuey to Montagna. Hall has maxed and im fed up with shuey.
I have looked at stewart and perhaps he is a bit safer with tredrea down and out. The other one ive been looking at is astbury. I know his risen a bit in value but he has played a few games this season and seems to be getting a fairly regular game in the richmond squad. Have you considered him. The other one to look at is playfair who is sitting at 144k. Sure his rose a bit but seems to be holding his spot fairly well. Downfall of these guys is you net less profit tho.
I have considered both Astbury and Playfair and if I was to go one of them I'd go for Playfair - but I don't particularly like either option. Not to mention the fact that if I do go to one of those I'll have only just enough money to get Sam Fisher.
I don't really like Stewart as an option, so I think I'll wait another week and re-assess this time next week. All that means is I play Webberley and Davis for another week. It also means I'll most probably keep Gumbleton as forward cover for the entire season and trade out Rockliff when he has peaked in a couple of weeks. The downside is that I'll probably lose eliminator this week but that is not the end of the world.
So at this stage my thinking is this.....
This week: No trade
Next week: Martin - Gysberts & Kennelly to a premium back (I'll have approximately 405k to play with so it is touch and go as to who I'll be able to afford)
Ideally NOK will force his way back into the team so I can do a double downgrade of Gumby/Rockliff to NOK and Martin to Gysberts as planned which will enable me to comfortably afford any premium defender and have plenty of cash to plan my last defender upgrade (Davis/Webberley)
I think that is the best option for me but am very unsure at this stage. Decisions, decisions......
I an fed up with Shuey too. I heard a rumour he has come down with glandular fever so I am going to make the McNeil switch earlier than I would have liked. I am going to experiment with the DP as I can now switch Ziebell & McNeil from my mids or forward bench depending on where I need the most cover in any given week. This is similar to what a few of the famous coaches are doing. The presence of Ziebell, who is B22 when fit, means I am more at ease with bringing McNeil in so early in the piece. This latest news about Shuey, along with the omissions of NOK & Wona (who I wanted to downgrade Peterson my 9th forward too), has prompted a change in strategy. Team news each week always throws up unexpected curveballs.Eyy mate im kinda in a similar position. Was gonna go hall to NOK this week and shuey to Montagna. Hall has maxed and im fed up with shuey.

Is your team full of keepers already? How much injury cover have you got on your bench in terms of either playing reserves or DP links? Sounds like you have been trading aggressively. I am sure Ball would be the least of your concerns at this stage. He is scoring well enough for you to hold him for now and then maybe look to upgrade him later in the season if you enjoy a charmed run with injuries. 5 trades with 11 rounds to go is not an ideal position to be in. I would err on the side of caution and avoid trading this week.Hey guys,
Not sure what Im going to do with Lukey Ball at this stage.
Has been doing alrite lately but Im pretty tempted to trade him out to a true premium.
Ive got 102k in the bank with 6 trades left.
So I can bring in anyone except for Ablett this week.
Im not sure whether I should wait and try and bring in Ablett if I can in the next few weeks but with Ball having a B/E of about 115, he's gonna drop a bit this week if he gets he's average.
So basically should I trade him out this week and bring in someone like Chappy, NDS, Hayes, Judd, Gibbs, Murphy.
My midfield atm is- Swan, Montagna, Bartel, Stanton, Ball, Barlow
Thoughts?

It's one rookie, and there is no guarantee that Hams will be the one promoted. The Eagles have a couple of other rookies that have been doing well in the WAFL.
