DT Trading Discussion 2010 (Part 6)

Will be trading Pods to Reiwoldt and can trade Nason or Webberley to a better defender next week. Held on to my trades (5) but looks like I will miss out on top four in my main league. Top six seperated by 6 points going into this week and I am likely to lose.

Really tempted to go Brown > Roo but I think I'll hold and use my trade for more important things, like upgrading a defender.

Anyone else with Judd have any thoughts on his injury?

If its 1-2 weeks i'll hold him because I'm in the top 4 of my league so I can afford to drop a game without him. Although without any injuries in my forward line I can cover him thanks to McNeil.

If I do have to trade him I am thinking of going Judd -> Boak due to a) being able to free up some cash and b) hoping that Boak can replicate his 100+ scores against the Eagles, Tigers and Melbourne.

My forward line is - Goodes, Pavlich, Didak, Gia, Harvey, Franklin and Rockliff. I've only got 26k in the bank and I want Riewoldt. Who should I trade? Or is it not worth a trade?

Depends on how many trades you have left? To do such a trade you'd want the rest of your team to be spot on, and to still have a few trades left for injuries.

I suppose out of those players Rockliff might be the one to trade, but his form has been excellent. Gia is another - he is so up and down, but again, is capable of a really big score.

Seriously, I wouldn't trade.

Got four left. This is all in an ideal world where I don't cop any injuries. I won't be upgrading both at once - just Kennedy for Roo this week, and then save Boyd for later on (should have just enough cash, even factoring in likely Boyd price rise)

Hall could be good, seeing as he shouldn't be rested etc. but I'd go for Higgins.


Which forward? I'm thinking Sylvia, Buddy or Didak.
Sylvia - Unique, relatively easy draw, can score massive, inconsistent
Buddy - Unique, could get low scores, can score big
Didak - Consistent, get's tagged (although he seems to be passed it), goal-kicking mid.

Thoughts?

Out of the options Im a real fan of didak, plays a chappy kind of role and dosent really get effected with a tag as of late.....

Higgans is out of form and dosent seem that he can get into midfield right now (with coons, boyd, griffan, picken - its tough and forward with gia/hall playing really well.....hmmmmm)

He could be still a bit hampered by his ankle? Anyways, could you downgrade one of your mid bench to Harwood/Hardingham and upgrade (Dangerfield?) to anybody?

Personally I wouldn't touch Higgins, I've had him from the start and was great to begin with but since his ankle injury he just hasn't been the same. No 100's and lots of scores in the 70's which isn't terrible but not great either.

At this stage of the year anybody you bring in needs to be a premium IMO. I'd try & get in Roey... how many trades do you have left?

Call me crazy, but what about Rob Murphy? Since he's come back he's consistently been around the 70-80 mark, but could easily get a hundred soon. The bulldogs tend to play kick to kick around the backline sometimes (think Lake, Gilbee and Hargrave's junktime scores) and he could benefit from this. Although, he is pretty injury prone.

Tough call mate... In your case maybe Hall and J.Riewoldt might be good options as they are both fighting it out for the Coleman. Leaning towards Barry though, the Dogs are hitting some good form and still have a lot to play for.

Like the High risk High Reward strategy. Carrots seems to be playing a tagging role again which sucks for DT. And Gram could burst back to DT life (I hope) I'd be tempted to get rid of Shaw instead of carrots though, Especially if he doesn't come back into the team.

My plan has always been to upgrade ballantyne, but Brown has looked so slow and useless lately. I'l probably keep Pods, but he does seem to be petering out for the year.
