Did you not read my post properly? I said the only club that stands to lose something is Richmond.
What do we lose? Please don't say Dusty...you don't still believe that?

For the third time, I said you are the only club that stands to lose something here in direct response to a post about how North fans will react if he re-signs. I didn't say you would lose him.

I don't think we have to guess, committing to Richmond would give the team a huge boost on the eve of the finals, perhaps a premiership winning boost. Hesitation would leave us sure that he was going but did not want to announce it before we finish our finals campaign. He definitely won't commit to North before the end of the finals.

If we hear nothing before the Geelong v Richmond game I think we have to believe he is going to North.

well no north loses there pride if they get knocked back by kelly and martin. offering massive $ and still finding it hard to get a player to join

From Caro's latest article. She hits the nail bang on the head.

"But nothing at Richmond suggests this will be Martin's final season and even though the money is massive from North and coach Brad Scott has recommitted you cannot imagine him or his leadership group that met Martin could have sold a future any brighter than the one that beckons at Tigerland. And the Tigers have sold a vision that money cannot buy but will prove ultimately profitable at the end of the day.

Reckon he'll stay and is squeezing the Tiger lemon $$$.
Tigers can look after him for life.
If it's just about $ he can go work at Little Real Estate as a "relationship executive" with Rance! Drop in and see Rancy he's always in the office.
Don't put too much stock in Richmond Caro quotes...she absolutely loves them.

What a load of bollocks!:D

Don't be surprised when GCS pick Rayner. As I wouldn't put it past GCS to just pick on talent rather than go home potential.

If you were GC and Rayner told you in pre draft interviews that his strong preference was to live and play in Melbourne would you select him on the back of walk outs like Omeara and Prestia ?
I think with Evans now running the show they will be a little smarter than that and perhaps follow Brisbane's lead in eyeing off Vic country boys who know they will be moving when drafted regardless .

That reasoning is predicated on the MAIN reason dusty playing football being he wants premiership/personal success.
And the money that comes along with being a good, successful footballer is incidental.

If that's the case, caro is right (and stating the bleeding obvious while she's at it).

She hasn't addressed that it remains very much unknown what REALLY motivates dusty.

Fwiw I've got no issues if dusty (or any player) has money as his main motivator to being a good player.

Most people work their job and strive to get better at it because of money; dont see why footballers need to be any more noble than the rest of us.

So what did Richmond present to Dusty then? I'm intrigued by your knowledge of all things Richmond and Dusty.

If it 'ain't money then I can safely assume it has to be a premiership.

Hence, a load of bollocks.

In all honesty I think this is just another piece of Caro column filler.

I agree with your reasoning, but is there any proof of this?

Feel free to add anything of substance as a rebuttal.
