With this knowledge I always wince when I see a *insert great young player* has played the best first 100 games in history threads.

Hard to believe Williams went from a participant in the Bendigo competition to the best player in the world in under 2 years.

The only other <100 games Leigh Matthews Trophy winners

(I think this is all of them )

McKernan won it in 1996 after 68 games

Riewoldt won it in 2004 after 72

Lockett in 1987 with 93

That award's only been around for 25-30 years IIRC.
There's been a couple of brownlow medallists in their first year or two - Bunton had won 3 Charlies in his first 100 games.
