no you get a position on the waiver line after every game, and say there are 6 people who try and claim the same person, the highest person on the waiver list gets the player, and goes to the end of the line. If you use a waiver claim, you go to the end of the waiver line, if you don't use your pick you go up and can get the number 1 pick if everyone ahead of you uses theirs (ie look at me - didn't use any waiver picks, ended up as number 1 on the list for later on, and just picked my players up after the 2 day waiver period)

These current waivers are to fill up your roster. YOu don't have to use your place in the line to get the next 6 players for your list...

You draft 34.
The league itself becomes open, which it is now.
From now till end of the football season you have max 40 man roster.
You can have 40 on your team, or 35, or even only 29 or 20 if you want.
All you have to care about is that after the season, you get to keep max 34 players because there's a 6 round draft every year now.
So next year, you could keep like only 10 players if you want. And draft 6. Giving you 16. You'll need to fill out your team thru the season thru waivers and FA. You can have 16 or 20 or 30 etc. Just that the max is 40 (+3 IR spots).
So to answer your question....you can use 4 now and save the others for later.
Also, you dont even have to USE a waiver claim. When you use a waiver claim (when all the players are classed WA) you go to the end of the waiver order. So, if you want, you can not make any claims at all. And then once the WA status goes away on all these players. They'll all now be FA status (free to sign). So you could get all your 4 or 6 players this way and hold onto your waiver order until the NFL season actually starts.
Once this lot of WA (sun) waivers process, all players go to FA status and stay that way until the NFL season actually begins. Once it begins tho, all the FA's lock on thursday and become WA. And if you want someone you'll have to make a claim for them. And that happens on the tuesday after the last game. Then once they process, the whole FA list unlocks and becomes FA again until the next thursday. And round and round like this.
Also, anytime you CUT a player from your team, and they return to FA, they have an immediate WA status. While everyone else is FA status. So you have to wait till THEY clear waiver status every 24-48 hrs or whatever it is.

Ok....
Ray Lewis is now back on waivers.
Arakaan, your problem is different to shifty's where he drafted a player ESPN calls DE/LB.
In your case, you just drafted 6 LBs somehow. Dunno how that got past us.
Anyway, you have to make a decision whether to keep Lewis or keep someone else.
You cant have him unless you move a LB into IR.
The only player you have IR eligible is a DE. So that wont do.
Both shifty (gaithers) and arakaan (lewis) will have to make a decision. We cant hold them in FA forever. Unfortunately, it ends up a wasted pick. Same happened to Dspeed in Alpha when the draft was entered in.

well, i just wish i'd picked up on it and not cost you a wasted draft pick you coulda spent instead on like a kicker or TE or something.
but anyway, everyone can easily rectify stuff imo. lots of talent out there in FA still, and 1 ray lewis is only 1/40th of a roster.

Cassel has experience though,very tough pick but if Brady goes down, I still got a decent back-up, so it won't be as bad as if someone's star running back gets injured.

Well I am actually quite anxious for a trade.
Looking for a starting running back, willing to trade a Quarterback for one. Scuab and Campbell in particular. If I have their backup or something similar, I am especially interested. I am not too interested with trading for depth as what most can see, my roster is full and so are my IR places.

Try making some trade offers inside the actual league page itself. Just go look thru other teams rosters and make them an offer thru espn. It will automatically send them an email telling them about the trade.

Also, go to MY TEAM, then under it you'll see TRADING BLOCK.
Go in there and fill that out, who you put "on the trading block", who's "untouchable" and show interest "yes" or "no" in other teams that are showing their list.
when everyone starts filling these things out, it will make trading a lot easier too.
