YAKUZA said:The fact that he still has a year to go isn't really relevant, he was clearly a better choice than several of those that were in the team particularly some of the dwarfs that they went with.
YAKUZA said:Now that's a roundabout way of asking what Club does he come from, sorry that would be too much of a give away.
Streaker said:He doesn't have to play Colts/Reserves/League this year to be eligible if he played colts last year.
macca69 said:So let me see if I understand, he is a 17-18 year old eligable to play WAFL colts but didn't. So I'll assume he played reserves, did he crack any WAFL senior games?
pinkus maximus said:And giving it away would be a problem why?
Pafloyul said:I agree that the state selectors seem to have a hard time balancing between wanting to win the championships and be able to showcase the best possible talent for the sake of the draft. It is an issue that seems to create controversy but I still don’t believe they have got it right yet. It is not so much the ball winning short people that they include but it seems that there are players that are picked just because they have the mature bodies yet have far less chance of making it at the highest level than some of the players that are still developing. You are just being dishonest in the long run and may actually be doing more harm than good for both types of players.
macca69 said:Can you tell me if he played more WAFL senior games or WAFL reserves games this season?
YAKUZA said:He hasn't played any WAFL games, that is Colt's, Reserves or League I thought my reply to Streaker would've made that fairly clear.
YAKUZA said:The selectors task is to pick the best players to win the championships it has nothing to do with the sake of the Draft and in my experience it never has.
I am a full bottle on how the system works Yak and that's why I asked. The only way to get drafted without playing a game in the WAFL is special permission from the AFL.I am now assuming that this is what has gone on and go back to my original comment that he is tied to Claremont.YAKUZA said:You are obviously not a full bottle on how the system works.

Yeah just got the same mail myself Yakuza.Bloody AFL.YAKUZA said:It may not now eventuate due to a technical hiccup.
That's some smokie! This bloke is attracting alot of interest.
He plays with East Freo and played some senior footy. He dominated the reserves are times and played well at senior level.
He is from Geraldton and is around 18/19.
I havent seen him play and hadnt heard of him before last week. I dont even know what position he plays. However, he has fielded strong interest from several AFL clubs.

Harry Taylor would be the smoky. He has very good skills, played about 10 senior games and twice was nearly best on ground and he dominated at reserve level playing in the midfield and up forward. Been a bit of interest in him from the clubs. I would definitely consider him for a rookie spot.
Where there's smoke, there's fire.That's some smokie!
Where there's smoke, there's fire.
Here are a few guesses
East Freo - Kym Monteath, Garrick Ibbottson, David Bongiascia
Perth - Cory Foot, Dennis Daniel
West Perth - Luke Tedesco
Peel - Kristin Thornton, Jacob Williams
Subiaco - Ben Priddis, Jarryd Batt
Swans - Jessie Gribble
Claremont - Ryan Brabazon, Trent DeNardi
South Fremantle - Keith Pickett, Gregory Beresi
East Perth - Danny Smith, Shawn Colbung
Rookie spot? More like owner of Nick Riewoldt!
Just shows how much of a genius Wells is!
Go the Q9!
Genius?
It was widely known many clubs were looking at him for the 2nd round, Geelong just got in first.
yes, they trusted their judgement and did what most clubs dont do and thats take a mature age player in the first round.......Give credit where its due.
