Mate your so smart! , You seem to know everything ! NOT.

As are you, Sir.

Keep your illiterate comments for when you're behind the fence of your local football fields.

Not too sure when I said I know everything by the way. I do know he's injury worries, he was an idol of mine after all. As for his games at the Lions it's pure speculation, not only from me but also various media outlets.

I still dont know how a edfl can make loTs of money off playing a high profile player playing, when they dont charge $$ to get in. They might sell some more beer n food.but its not like marbys ground would be accomidating for a big crowd.

Abers for Aka day had a 200 person lunch for $55 a head and sold a boat load of merchandise as well as having the whole suburb at the game and in the rooms after.

Trust me, Wayne Carey will attract the same level of interest and Marby are smart enough to earn a lot out of it. No doubt the success of Aka day would have encouraged them to do it and fair play to them I say.

Also, anyone who thinks that arguably the greatest player of all time will not be at the very least quite handy is kidding themselves. I saw a photo of him earlier in the year and he is as fit as ever. And fitness? Plonk him at full forward and kick the ball in his general direction and watch the goals go in. The Duck playing EDFL, who would have thought haha

Luke Livingston will play full forward, after all he is the A Grade leading goal kicker and will the other carey return, Kade Carey, when Wayne play his one or two games?

Good post. I would make the journey regardless of who he played with a few of my kids in tow so at least see who this man, whom they have heard so much about, is.

It still amazes, astounds and dumbfounds me as to how we are all so quick to forget.... Do people not remember the A Stevens scenario and what you would all think of your team-mate if he did to you the same as the great man did?
Why in life are we so clouded by painting these blokes as heroes/superstars and forget about the traits that make a person, a team-mate and a loyal club person?
Don't for a second get me wrong here as he was and still is the BEST footballer that I have ever watched and seen in my life-time... I rated him very highly.
But why do we all turn a blind eye to the fact that his exploits off the field were a disgrace.... Probably the same reason that we all now accept that your current team-mates will up and leave at season's end if they get an offer of $5 more per game to play at another club... Don't care if a player has played at 3 or more of the 10 clubs in A grade, we'll take him!!! (eg. R Haoucher, Tate, etc and afar with blokes like A James, Balraj Singh, D Casset, J MacNamara).
Club's used to be about loyalty, playing for the jumper, respect and commitment for the club and jumper... Does this still even exist anymore?

I just don't know why we have to pump up blokes that in society are either losers blessed with football ability and allow them with luxury's they don't deserve and allow them to carry on like they are celebrity's and a world in which rules don't exist for them.

Before half of you get on here and have a crack at where I come from on this I have played AFL/VFL football so am not just a ranting lunatic with no ability, I just wish that we could get back to some grass roots football and get back to the meaning of what local football is about, stop reading your own press and if clubs as a collective could cut out the stroking of ego's we would all be better off.

Agree with this part.... The amount of sooking I've heard over money an contracts shits me.... One thing I do like about the ammos is there is none of that

Good mate of mine his brother played VFL for a few years then went back to play in the ammos.... Got offered $1500 per game by north Heidelberg and turned it down to play for nothing

what a loser you are hutchy of abers well lets hope you dont support abers because you are an idiot....
Rabee has played at West Coburg even went to B grade to help them for a year maybe more I dont know to help them get back up a few years ago. went to keilor and have no idea what happened there..... He came to abers when the club was struggling and helped abers stay in A grade last year..... so go back to your pathetic life and whinge to all your mates but I guess you dont have any......
As for loyalty there is definatley some out there but I am not going to come on here and name names like you do you gutless moron.....
played afl/vfl well done there have been planty of useless players to played AFL/VFL and when they play there first games the club realise they wasted a spot on a list for that person I think you might fall into this category....
Get a life you pathetic little man......
Gee I hope you dont follow abers..... i have sent you private messages for you to tell me who you are but you havent even got the balls to tell me.....

i hardly ever post on here but some people are dumb....

A couple of points;
  • Wayne Carey - GUN (maybe the greatest) footballer and fantastic for Marby to have him playing. He has publicly acknoledged his mistakes and just because your in the media mad world of AFL, people make mistakes as no doubt critics on this forum would have and it is great for your comp to have him playing. IMO not fair to bag him without being personally involved and knowing the whole story.
  • EDFL - Imagine the GF if Carey plays and Abers/Greenvale are the opposition. 10,000 people possible attendance as a minimum and not just to see him, a lot of quality ex-afl plus some of the best players in EDFL.
Think sometimes the big picture is lost in personal opinion and I do not condone his mistakes, LOYALTY in life is enormous:thumbsu:

People on here on a moral high horse get a life, their would be people involved at EVERY edfl club that have done way worse things in their lives than the duck.

Imagine a fwd line of Livingstone, Kade Carey, Wayne Carey, Chris Stewart... Good luck to the defenders, who do you put your best backmen on??

Great win by the boys after last weeks shock loss it was a top 3rd qtr by the boys with some brilliant individual efforts. Overall Lukey Ryan and Jacky Pascu were terrific all day.

I dont know if the win says more about our topsy turvy season on Marbis drop of in form and they have no excuses today just outplayed and with pretty much a full list and no depth in the earlier game at all worrying signs for the reigning premior.. Go Oaks :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

To be fair to Marby they definately werent at full strentgh. From what i saw there was no Boyd, Barling, Hollow to name a few, but they were definately outplayed and Oak Park deserved the win.

Not knowing too much about their depth, but they had one, maybe two guys in their seconds who would be fringe players at best in any other club.

Yes there are a few good players out from the team ,but no excuses Marby were beaten fair and square.
At the moment there is not the same hunger and commitment by the group and if this does not improve Marby could see itself out of the four soon.
In my opinion the Coaching panel, selectors and commitee need to get there act together and get them back to where they should be.
Well done to Oak Park today.

Well done to Oak Park today.

Marby will be there and will still win so no need to worry Mick. The usual Marby midseason siesta.

However I find those comments absolutely bizarre esp from a player. Surely you players getting paid all that dough should be taking 100% of the responsibility. If your (teammates) not still committed and sticking the hand out getting paid that much then surely the coach, commitee and selectors have the right to be the ones disgusted?

Brodie's back. Maybe he can now finish what he started ;)

How did your captain pull up someone told me thats his 3rd serious concussion this year, he may want to get scan from a good doctor.

Alby pulled up well mate and was very keen to get back into the action late in the game. Not sure if it was the concussion that was talking or his want to be involved in the contest. In regards to scans, if he went to a good doctor he may not be happy with what the results of what's up there or the damage done . Was great to see the place rocking last night with everybody in attendance seeming to have a good time. Hopefully this will kick start us to a strong 2nd half of the year. Another big test this week against Greenvale.

Good to hear, but I would say it was the concussion talking he had been out for about 1.5min by the time I got out to him so would be considered a level 1 concussion.

North West FM 98.9 game for broadcast this weekend is Greenvale v Oak Park

Can anyone tell me the characteristics of Greenvale's alternative field and how it plays differently to the main ground? My observations of the main oval are the wind adds a few meters to kicking distance when attacking the southern end, and the pockets to the northern end are more difficult for set shots.
