Very interested to see a) what excuses Pa$co€ Va£e will offer and
B) what old mate Maximus (an expert on all things northern saints) made of the game.
Great disciplined team effort by the saints.

Interesting to hear some of the rubbish from the paco fans "same old north Coburg saints...".... But to me it was more of same old pacco - overpaid, arrogant individuals.

Was thinking the same as I watched pacco walk off the field

Be happy with the win fletch, don't need to argue it here. Great day for the club :)

With the recruits Pacco have had this year I wonder how they aren't even first. Goes to show that mateship has a certain factor in making good footy sides, and that buying your way to a flag ain't such a smart idea

Agree to a certain extent.... Buying flags turned out alright for marby... Just got to buy the right players

Was good hear about Journeyman Danny Casset kicking 8 goals today for MV against Jacana. Was also good to see the Sainters and the Cougars with very impressive wins.

after watching the Moonee Valley vs Jacana game, i must say that Jacana isnt as bad as some people think. they have some great talent, and im sure in a couple of years, you will see how good they can be.
On a better note, the young umpire umpired great, pity the old guy Dave couldnt take a leaf out of the kid's book!:thumbsu:

well said. if you have the money spend it! BUT you have to know how to spend it! bit of goalkicking power and leadership missing from the pacco line up on the weekend.. Denis Bicer, Ben Power, Ash Flavel, Daniel Nolan and Matt Perri. would expect them to make a difference come the second half of the season. really impressed with northern saints running game and ability to hold the ball in their possesion. big smokey IF they can keep it together. Bassman is as silky as they come

very interesting results from the weekend. Northern getting up over Paccoe was a massive on as they needed that win to stay right up there. Paccoe missing some big names and I am sure all would agree most of the ones that were missing could predict an outcome of a game off their own boot. But on the other hand Northern missing some good players in Housman being rubbed out and just wondering when Gohar Saad would be pulling on the boots since he got cleared? A monstrous man who will win you a game of footy on his day, didn't have a massive impact last year at Hadfield as just wasn't his year but still very dangerous.

Tulla impressing by running over the top of a young Hadfield side on the weekend, missing alot of their spine players they will be a very hard side to beat come finals time. Hadfield have some positives out of this year, even though they havent got the wins on the board, they have 9 players from last years under 18s grand final side playing seniors footy and they are competitive and getting alot better, loosing alot of players over the pre season and alot of injuries during the year has cost them dearly but all they can do is rebuild and move on, they have a bright future with alot of the shit removed from the club, so you can say they are not the hadfield of old. :thumbsu:

something suprising to me is east keilor, sitting on top 1 game clear of the following 5 or so teams, they only have a few hard games which is probably airport west and west coburg and the rest should win. they find themselves in a quite comfortable position.

been a cracking year it has been so far with some upsets and this week between northern and airport west, match of the round. I believe Airport West will get up because if northerns undiscipline comes out when the west rattle they cage it will be all over as airport west will test them when it comes down to it.

Will be interesting to see how the run of Airport West compares with the physicality of Northern, especially on the tight confines of Charles Mutton Reserve. Any concerns about Northern Saints discipline seem to be over-exaggerated, the played great team footy to get up over Paco and the list looks pretty deep.
No Doubt Paco have a few to come back, but how many key forwards can you fit in one side? It would still be concerning for them that they have dropped 2 games already.
East Keilor are a well balanced side with a potent forward line, very disciplined.
Looks like a cracking finish ahead, plenty of big games in the next few weeks.

i agree with you on that, but dont rule out west couburg! saw them against hillside on the weekend and their big bodies on their day can upset alot of teams, although their midfield had trouble cointaining number 8 knezvic i think, who what i hear is having a great season but come finals time they will def be a contenter. will be a exciting end to the season

Definitely it not ruling them out, I just haven't seen them yet.

match of the round:

nthn saints vs APW

tulla vs roxy
keilor park vs jacana
east keilor vs hillside
pacco vs haddy
west coburg vs wetmeadows
glenroy vs moonee valley

Big percentage boosters coming up for Tullamarine, with Roxy today and Moonee Valley next week. This will bring them a ton of confidence heading into the match of the round in 2 weeks when they take on Northern Saints at Charles Mutton reserve. That game is going to be huge

What the hell did Keilor Park score 57.15.357 or something like that to Jacana 3.1.19?

How the **** did this happen? This is incredible and sad if true!

It's bloody tragic.

Airport West beat Northern by about 10 I think, but it was over well before then. Can't help but feel this is one game the Saints will look back on with some regret and think they could have done much better.

Think I've found the league's biggest whingers too. The umpiring was average at best, but you'd swear AW had got all the bad calls.

Final score Hadfield 7.9 (51) lt Pascoe Vale 11.12 (78)
